Just back last night…here’s where we ate:

MGM- Sci-Fi Drive Inn
I’ve heard lots of bad comments from people on this place, but we really liked it. The atmosphere was really cool. Our waiter was very nice and attentive. We had a late lunch, so we all had burgers and shakes. It just didn’t seem right to eat anything but burgers and shakes at a drive-in!! The burger was pretty good. I think it was a tad bit overcooked, but I did ask for it well-done. That kind of surprised me that they even asked b/c in NC it’s against the law for a restaurant to serve anything but well done burgers. But I am no fan of ecoli, so well-done suits me just fine. The shake was good and the fries were also. One of us got a reuben and she said it was good. We all thought it was a fun experience and really enjoyed it. The movies were funny too. We all laughed when they showed the same commercial that is shown in the movie Grease. You know where John Travolta is singing “Sandy” and they show the hotdog jumping into the bun? (our family loves that movie) Even the 5 year old recognized it!

Magic Kingdom-Crystal Palace
We had a lunch reservation for here. It was rather crowded, but our server was awesome. He explained to us how the characters revolve around the room, so we didn’t freak out when Piglet left our side without stopping at our table. The food was really good. Even though it was lunch they still had lots of hot foods: meat carving stations, salmon, chicken, all kinds of cold salads, etc. The characters were great. Pooh and Eeyore led a parade around the room and Tigger even danced with one of us.

1900 Park Fare –Cinderela’s Gala Feast
We got surprised when we walked in and Sleeping Beauty was there. I guess she was there to fill in for Prince Charming, who was absent. Sleeping Beauty was sooooo sweet. She would pick the little girls up and walk around with them. We saw her escort one little girl back to her seat by holding her hand. She was just so friendly and warm….very princess-like. Cinderella was nice also. The food was great. We all loved it. The pasta was made fresh while you watched and very tasty. The chicken marsala was wonderful as was the lasagna. And the Grand Floridian is so beautiful. I got confused though b/c isn’t there another resort called the Coronado, yet the GF was very obviously made to duplicate the Hotel del Coronado that is in California.

Animal Kingdom –Rainforest Café
We like to eat here b/c we don’t have one of these near us, so it is different. I got the Planet Sandwich, the mushroom and vegetable one. It was really good. They were very crowded but seated us rather quickly. The service wasn’t all that great, but the food was good. Nothing to write home about, but the restauarant itself is a neat experience.

All in all, we had really good food. The only other things we got were ice cream bars in the park. And I was so glad we had made PS for every meal. There were a ton of people trying desperately to get into every restaurant and were being turned down. And at the Sci-Fi, they said it was over an hour and a half wait, but with our PS we walked right in!

Thanks for the report! Sounds like things were crowded. Glad you enjoyed your eating!
