Back to the Future The Ride

Would be great if they did a refurb rather than close the ride completley.

Having read the script for the new attraction, I can definitely say it's The Simpsons. Highlight below for spoilage.

Starts with a tour of the nuclear plant, then a bus tour of Springfield. Otto is featured, til the 50-foot Marge eats him - then Bart takes over the bus!

That's not a script, that's a ride idea that's been tossed around.

Auuuugh, I'm getting more and more of that "take if off the drawing board and delay" feeling. Why do the suits think this way? Wow, they're going to plaster billboards near the park with Blue Man Group and act like that's going to bring people from far away in. Here suits, click this link and look at what people are talking about.

Now, look at the replys and views column.
1. Cedar Point (Maverick)
2. Busch Gardens Europe (Griffon)
3. Dollywood (Mystery Mine)
4. Valley Fair (Renegade)

And at the bottom of the page with a whopping 7 replys is Blue Man Group. And get this, they closed the thread. People want rides, not shows.

What you have said is RUMOR at this time. Nothing that you hear from your "sources" is true until Universal releases the *correct* information at that time. Until then, yaytez, your sources are telling you rumors.

Not harsh...just true, tho I think while yaytez first said he can "confirm" that it will be a Simpson's attraction, I am sure based on what he followed it up with, that he didn't mean confirm in the "official" sense....I think he made it clear afterward that he is NOT directly "in the know"

:grouphug:

We all know tho...that while something may very well be a rumor, and once in a while, things change and go in a different direction, that historically, MANY of those rumors (especially the ones that seem to have many "sources") end up coming to fruition. But, alas, I am also not official, or in the know about anything... :teeth:

MIB9's...pretty much anyone who works in some capacity for a theme park has to sign a confidentiality type of agreement...but, I think it's a known fact that many of those who sign, apparently don't seem to care about preserving the info!

If I had to take an educated guess, I'd say it might be a Simpson's attraction... :joker:

I'm afraid this is one more example of the internet 'confirming' things that in fact, have not been confirmed by the company involved. It is RUMORED there will be a Simpson's ride, but Universal have certainly not confirmed that.

Everyone said Disney's Wonders of Life pavilion was confirmed closed, right? Not meaning to blow our own horn, but The Brit's Guide is the only source I know of that did not remove Wonders of Life from the 'Seasonal' list, and continuted to state it was open seasonally. Everyone else (that I know of) stated it was closed for good. Even the one souce that we trust (outside our PR contacts) said it was closed for good. Guess what? It's open for Christmas season.

Until the company itself confirms, it's a rumor. As of now, a new Simpson's ride is a rumor.

Technically Universal hasnt "announced" that they are indeed closing the ride. They merely confirmed that the internet rumors were true and they were considering closing the ride. Here's a new rumor, that I know for a fact to be true.....they are considering closing down Jimmy Nuetron. Look at the words I used...considering. Ponder that one.
And wonders of life, though it may have been great, either needs to close to make room for something else, or be completely revamped. Its got amazing potential that has just wasted away in decay. Lets not Pixarize it or anything....but lets make something else happen in it.

Once again, you are posting statements that no one knows the answers to but UO themselves. Give UO some time to announce the future of BTTF and then we'll see. Once again, all you are posting is rumors.

You're incorrect on this one, Dark Marauder. Maybe there was a ride idea tossed around, but I have read the rough script and seen the concept art.

Except one whole side is shutdown.

:scratchin

Your wrong about the fact nothing has happened. While the ride is still open only one screen of it is running. The ride is closing the only question is when the other half will be closed for good.

Here are some pictures I got off of the Universal Excitement forums.

As you can see the back half of the cars have already been torn out. The interesting thing here is when you ride BTTF only the front half of the car actually moves up to the screen what your seeing is the half that stays behind and does not move.

Wondering if they are waiting until after the holidays? Anyway, how true IS the Simpsons idea?

Rough script and concept art = nothing. There was concept art and plans for a Van Helsing attraction, but that fell through miserably.

True, but it was supposed to be one side shut down, then the other side shortly thereafter. The other side is still running...

I know. I've seen the garages with the cars ripped out personally. I've also personally seen a few other things that most guests and even many employees have not/are not allowed to see. I won't say what, as I don't want to get anyone in trouble.

The Simpsons is only a rumored replacement. Hasn't been confirmed by UO.

I happen (unknowingly) to deal with a vendor that is also a vendor for Universal and they have something to dowith what is going on at BTTF.

If it's unknowingly...how do you know??? :teeth:

Now rumor has it that the supposed Simpsons revamp is dead in the water. Something about royalties to the likenesses of the characters.

I wonder what plan B is.
