I'll be visiting florida in december and ive heard that Universal will be closing the attraction

I would just like to no if its still open, will it still be open in december and if ne1 has recently been to universal and seen ne signs of it closing

also does ne1 no if the jaws ride will be open as wen i visted in nov. it wasnt open

I understand BTTF was supposed to close on November 5th, not sure if this was the case.

November 5th was a rumor someone started :rolleyes2 because of the date in the movie that marty goes back and doc discovers the flux capacitor. Its still open, and I have a funny feeling it may stick around for a while.

I remember the first time I went on this ride. I was amazed! I've been on it several times since. I hope it stays!

I miss King Kong as it is!

So, is it that the ride has gotten more bumpy over the years? Is that part of why they're taking it down? The ride seriously makes me sick. Last time I rode it I had to sit down on the benches outside of the ride for like 20 minutes before I could go on (yeah, I know I'm a huge sick-wuss).

My family loves it though. My husband's cousin, who is 9, absolutely loves Back to the Future, the movies, the toys, Doc, everything. He got this look of absolute awe when he got to meet Doc at the park, and see the Delorean. I'll really miss the ride, even though I don't ride it anymore.

I always loved the pre-ride stuff, where you're in that room and everything. They did a great job with that. I hope something way cooler than The Simpsons takes its place.

I rode it yesterday and it's still open. It's now so dated compared to Spiderman in IOA. I was really looking forward to riding it having last ridden it 12 years ago but came off it disappointed.

There is no word yet as to when Back to the Future is closing. There is also no word as to what is replacing it. :)

I bought the new 2007 universal book and it says in there that it is closed for 2007 and the rumor has it that a simpsons ride is coming in

What new 2007 book?? Is it only available at the parks?? Also, I can't confirm nor deny that it is a Simpsons ride. All I can say is, we're getting a new ride. :)

I can confirm that it is a Simpsons ride. Of course I'm no one official, and dont know anything about it....But from what I've heard, the part that is closed is already being rethemed. Again, I've only heard...but I have some sources that are known to be fairly reliable.

that's the word i hear also, simpsons ride.

maybe it will be centered on the bus driver.
if you like the simpsons, then that would be kewl

What you have said is RUMOR at this time. Nothing that you hear from your "sources" is true until Universal releases the *correct* information at that time. Until then, yaytez, your sources are telling you rumors.

I was at Universal on November 25 and found Back to the Future still open. The lines were long but moved pretty quickly. I have always loved the ride, but was a little dissapointed this time. It did not seem to be as fun as I had remembered it being.

We just returned as well, as of Sunday it was still open. I was really disappointed on this ride too. Time for an upgrade or to get rid of it IMO.

Geez, that was a little harsh.
Anywho. Yaytez. I have a feeling your sources, may be right. :goodvibes

Looks like this may still be open next week. Great news. I was really bummed when I thought I missed riding it one more time by only a month or two. Bumpy as it may be, as a huge fan of the movies, I want to take a lot of pictures and see the film one more time.

I don't think that was harsh as I was telling him was true. Anything that is reported by another person is a rumor. Universal Orlando has not released anything about a date for BTTF's closure, nor what is replacing it. Until then, EVERYTHING is rumor. :)

I happen (unknowingly) to deal with a vendor that is also a vendor for Universal and they have something to dowith what is going on at BTTF. I asked what was happening and was told that they had to sign agreements not to say a word concerning any details or what was happening. They could say they are doing something concerning the BTTF ride but that was all. They would not even say if it was just a refurb job or a new ride. While it would be nice to know, i appreciate them sticking to what they agreed to do and or not say! :smooth:
