I know most places have back to school ads around the 4th of July. Does anone have a "heads up" as to if the sales start on the 3rd or the 10th?

I am riding home from vacation and looking at online sales now (Macy, Dillard's, Nordstroms, Bloomingdales, etc.). What else can you do while DH drives 8-hours!

They have already started here - about two weeks ago (supermarkets).

Staples has an online ad out for tomorrow. There are only 2 or 3 items on sale so I guess the bigger sale starts next Sunday. They haven't been on sale yet near me at Supermarkets but school just got out last week for many kids.

We were just at Target today and half of the 'seasonal' section has now been switched over to school supplies. The other half was patriotic July 4th stuff. But I'm sure by next week......

Staples has some BTS items in their ad this week (7-3). Nothing exciting price wise.
Nothing really in the Office Max/Office Depot ads.
Walmart has put out some school items with lower prices.
Kroger disguised a BTS ad last Wednesday as a year round office supply sale.

I would wait for school supply purchases.

There is a thread here somewhere from a couple of weeks ago that the sales had already started then. Some of the schools here take half of May, all of June and half of July off and go back July 11. That's the biggest district here. The second biggest district starts Mid-August, and the third largest still goes with what I consider the tradition return to school date, the day after Labor Day.

Target had some prices knocked back today. Washable markers (10 pack) for $1.97, non-washable (not sure if 8 or 10) for $.97. 12 pack colored pencil .99.

It's insane that Back to School sales started here in NY before school was even out. Stop it, already.
