OK, we were not even docked on our first cruise when DH said book a 7-day!! But here is my question... for those of you who have done a back to back, like the 3-day what is your reasoning verses a 7-day? Is is less expensive? Do you get to keep the same stateroom?

I would also like info on a back to back. I couldn't find anything on the search but I know some people have done this.

We've thought about taking back-to-back 4 and 7 day cruises, ....however, we typically take DS out of school and sail off-peak....unfortunately, taking him out for 2 weeks is not a reality....

We did three in a row on the Wonder due to price and also due to the fact that we were looking for total relaxation. Since we never disembark at Nassau, it was like LOTS of sea days and the bonus of three stops at Castaway Cay.

Hi Barb... do you have to disembark and then wait around to check back in? can you leave your luggage and everything in your room?

We have back to back 3 and 4 days cruises on the Wonder booked for April. We choose this because we wanted to cruise during my kids spring break and for this particular week a 3 day and 4 day cruise combined were about $900 less than the 7 day cruise for the same week. We did book the same room for both cruises so we don't have to move. I was told we don't have to get off the ship, but just have to "stay out of the way" while they prepare for the next sailing and there won't be any services available. We plan to do some laundry, hang out at the Deck 7 aft, and enjoy the ship when it's virtually empty of passengers. Although I'm not as excited about Nassua as the ports on the 7 day, I can make do for a $900 savings. Plus, we'll be at Castaway Cay twice. It just worked out better for us to do it this way. The other advantage is I don't have to take an extra vacation day on a Friday to fly in a day early. If the price was the same, I probably would have chosen the 7 day though. We're going to Hawaii in June, so I had to cut corners to squeeze this trip in.

You also have to accept the fact that you'll probably see the same entertainment and have the same menus for both trips. Also the kids will probably see a lot of the same programming in the kids' clubs.

That being said, I would LOVE to do a back to back something or other so I can say I did it! I'd love to hang out and see what happens between nine and noon. I think it'd also be very relaxing b/c on the second cruise you wouldn't feel the pressure to go to all of the shows or all of the programming.

Someday.....

We did 7 night back to backs....well really a 5 night and 7 night thanks to Jeanne, so I can't answer on the 3 and 4 day back to backs, but we reserved the same stateroom for both cruises. We did not have to disembark on Saturday, but we did need to vacate our stateroom for a short period of time so our hostess could do a thourough clean. We left everything in there. We wandered, did laundry and enjoyed an nice quiet, empty ship for a few hours! Lots of great pics from the empty ship. We checked in at guest services at around 1200, but oddly enough, still waited in line for spa ressies!

As far as the repeat enterainment, etc, it was fine with me. They actually switched comedians and there was a different line up for one of the evening shows as well, but since we are not huge fans of the shows, so we saw what we wanted, and missed what we didn't. The one thing that I got sick of was the food. It quite honestly got to be a bit too much and overwhelming after the mid point of the second cruise...some of it is good, but most of it is so, so and two weeks of it was a bit much. I ordered from the kids menu for a change of pace and for some basic food! I'd hate to say it, but by week two, as much as I love Palo, it just was like, "my god, more food???!?!?!" They pretty much just bring things to your table, despite what you say. (But this could be from a full week of WDW prior, so this was week 3 of Disney food.) Things I never tired of...the spa, Scoops, the pool, Fiona in the workout room (Ms. Energy that kept some of the ice cream from sticking to the hips), the Cove Cafe, seeing "50 First Dates" in half hour blocks and sea days. Oh, and one super nice thing is that DCL recognizes you as back to back cruisers with a card from the DCL president. It is just a nice gesture that they know what is going on.

We loved it, but I think doing 14 days once may be enough for the next few years. (I am still trying to make myself feel better about cancelling the repo!)

Thanks everybody!! We all missed so much while onboard, looking forward to going back. I think this is what we will try. :flower1:
