We have had the MOST MAGICAL WEEKEND!
Not even sure if I want to share some of my highs until my trip report - one in particular was THAT amazing (for us anyway)
Highs:
The castle! Our DD seeing the castle for the very first time and squealing with delight shouting "Mammy, Daddy LOOK! The castle! So pretty!"
City Hall! Her birthday call from Mickey - I wish I had videoed it - her face was amazing! She broke out in the biggest grin! And the magic they provided today (which I will save for my trip report)!
Auberge! Being given the best seat in the house, the most AMAZING character interaction - especially from Aurora who seemed to have a soft spot for DD, and the waiting staff, Snow White, Prince Charming ... and Aurora insisting on joining in "for beautiful princes Rose" ... bringing in her birthday cake and singing for her!
The Parade! On both days DD had the most magical experiences with various characters (esp the princesses & princes) stopping to say Happy Birthday!
Inventions! It was Prince & Princess themed - and just wonderful, the characters were wonderful with DD, Rapunzel & Flynn (who told DD she had lovely hair, that it was obviously magical, that she was prettier than Rapunzel and whispered that he was going to steal DD's crown!) Princess Minnie and Prince Mickey, and Chip & Dale!
The magic! Seriously - some characters and CM's went OUT of their way to make a fuss of DD and make it seem like she was the only little girl in the park! They are wonderful!
The lows
The cold - I could cope with it, hubby whinged a bit - DD was distraught alot of the time, wouldn't walk as her feet were so cold and cried when we weren't in a restaurant or watching the parade. She had 5 layers of clothes on, thermal socks, tights and boots - and warm, except for her hands, feet and face and that was enough to ruin her! However, with two wonderful meals booked we had plenty of respite from the cold!
The refurbs - hadn't expected it to look so much like a building site. Didn't matter too much but it did take away a teeny bit of the magic! Gutted DD couldn't have a look round the castle!
Will do my trip report and add photos tomorrow! Should really go to bed now!
