Arrived home Monday morning after another amazing fortnight in Florida. Never managed a trip report in all my years on here ........... Sorry :flower3: .............but will post our highs and lows just in case anybody's interested.

Highs
One night stay at Universal Portofino Bay Hotel - 2nd time stayed there but this time managed to make good use of pool (Tropical storm last time)
FOLP at Universal - Priceless ($209 for the Deluxe room with an AP - well worth the dosh)
Discovery Cove - 4th time now and still love the place
Rip Ride Rockit - Didnt manage to ride on previous 2 trips but rode 4 times this year - awesome!
Villa at Tuscany
Magic Kingdom and Wishes (missed out last 2 trips so thoroughly enjoyed it this time)
Changing Rooms at Disney Water Parks (far better than the ones at Aquatica) - Wouldnt have been a high had the Aquatica ones not been so few and far between.
Millers Ale House - Stuffed Lobster for $12.95 - unbeatable!
Mannys Chop House - excellent meal and service
Toyota Highlander through Alamo - fast clearance and noticable fuel economy this trip
Virgin Atlantic (outbound) in the bubble - excellent seats and excellent service. Spoiled us for the home trip though, probably rubbish but the seats seemed smaller - mad I know!
Tax free weekend from the 4th August - saved a fortune and got a lovely pair of Nine West flip flops for $9.99 inc tax to boot

Lows
DS falling ill at BG - think that place is bad luck for us
Logans Road House - rotten meal - enough said
Missing my eldest son (first trip without him, although he now says he's coming next time lol!)

All in all another fab trip, only did 16 nights this trip and felt we didnt have enough shopping or downtime so will definately be heading back for three weeks next time. Just need to work out how best to use the 135000 KLM points my DH has accumulated :beach:

Aww sounds awesome! We were at Millennia for the tax free weekend - ipad mini, £215... ;)

Glad you had a good trip! We loved ours, already talking about when we can go back lol.

Excellent ................. Only other negative point I forgot to mention were the volume of Brazilian tour groups, not so much in WDW but in Universal, Seaworld and BG. Never ever seen so many at this time of year, I like to consider myself quite placid but actually came to blows with 3 girls wearing nothing more than hollister shorts, skimpy tops and attitude in the Rip Ride Rockit Q! Politely placed them back in their original Q position via the chain link fence using my hand and the top of one of their heads.

sounds like a fantastic holiday. So jealous of all the tax free shopping.;)

Know what you mean about 2 weeks holiday. We normally go for 3 weeks but have 16 days this time. DH keeps on saying 'I wish we'd booked for 3 weeks'..which is really annoying as I kept on saying as I was booking it was he sure! MEN.! :upsidedow

Thank you for taking the time to do your highs and lows and so pleased there are a lot of highs and only a few lows and off course we are interested:goodvibes

:rotfl:

remind not to mess with you:rotfl2:

Best bit is I'm five foot nothing with size 2 feet ..... Guess it was one of those moments when adrenalin just takes over .... I could cope with 2 pushing in but when they called their mates it was a step too far lol!

Good for you, they are a right pain, feels like they are taking over :/

We only found out when we turned up but it was on the radio too :)

Edit - Just looked online and it was a back to school tax free weekend. So I guess it doesn't happen often :(

What a shame, but I will keep an eye out just in case....:)

Love your high & low!

Nearly wet myself with laughter while the nurse was administering my IVs!! Good on you I'm only 5ft size 8 with size 3 feet and you spun just like me! Can't tell you how many people I've stopped pushing passes me and my kids,
I don't mind somebody joining there family but a group joining 1 or " pretending" they have family ( you see the same group over an over.

We're doing 15nights for the 1st time in ages as it was a last min trip and will be gutted to come home, but we have just booked another trip for may :)

Think it was a back to school thing ..... I found out through an email from Premium Outlets but all the shops and malls seemed to be participating

Super job .... We arrived a week earlier than normal so not sure if that was why we saw so many, but all that flag waving and group singing did our heads in.... Sort of a "we've arrived, put up with us or go home" attitude ... We thought they were very arrogant

We've been going to Florida in July since 2002 and have hit the tax free weekend several times in the past when we have stayed into August. Unfortunately not this year as out flight home was on August 1st. As far as I am aware this is the only time in the year that it happens as it is to help families provide school essentials, many of which are provided by schools here.
