Checked into WL on 8/19 about 12pm. We arrived about 10:30 and used ME. It was very efficient and we were on our way quickly. Stopped in OKW and FW before the WL. There were only 2 people for OKW, 17 for FW and 4 for WL.

Our room 2002 was ready (I think they must be doing room ready also). Thus began the first of many very long walks - across the lobby, down the ramp, across the snackbar to the elevators and down the 2nd floor hall to the very, very end. Our woods view room had decent view of the lake thru the trees. But, it was longer than any trek in the BW I've ever had! By the end of two days, I was not wanting to stay at that end of the hall any longer! We did have a great time there, saw the water pageant, ate dinner at WCC, looked for Hidden Mickeys, used the (very busy) pool. I see why folks love the theming so much, but I'm still a BoardWalk girl/Beach Shore girl. Housekeeping left us a really cute eagle towel animal complete with pipe cleaner legs.

Moved over to BWV - checking in around 9am - and our room was again ready (hmmmm, there's that room ready again!) #3111, SV lock-off studio. Across from the bus stop in a yellow section. Right between two big trees, so we could see out, but not much to the left or right. Didn't matter, it was too hot to be on the deck most of the time! Another towel design - this time a doll sitting on the mirror ledge at the entrance. Room was great overall, but I was surprised to see there was no dishwashing liquid, sponge or dish towel.

And thus begins my only comment. Please understand that this was really NOT a big deal, but I just want to tell the story because it's so strange. I called housekeeping - I was unsure if I was supposed to have the three items, but I thought I remembered having them every other time at BWV, OKW and BCV. So I said "I'm in a studio and I can't remember, am I supposed to have diswashING liquid" The person snorted/laughed and replied "Do you have a dishwasher" and I said "of course not, it's a studio" and she said "I guess you don't need any then do you". Now, typing this - I can't convey how snide she was, but she was. So I said, I have dishes to wash. And she said - so do you want some dish soap? And I said, that's what I asked for. And she said no you didn't - you asked for dishwashER soap and I said no I didn't and she started to reply back again and you get the picture - it was rediculous. But she ended up saying to me - well if you just ask for it we will bring it do you.  Arghhhhhh. She was very snide, I was trying to keep my temper. But forgot about the sponge and dish towel. I was in the shower when it arrived and DGD opens the door and the person peeks in and says to her " you don't have a kitchen, why do you need this?" and then hands it to her anyway :confused3 :confused3 :confused3

Not wanting to deal with this while on vacation - I decided to just write a letter after. Well, on T&T day, we get in around 9pm and I reach for plates and there are none - they didn't replenish them or the plastics. I had made tea in the pot and put it in the fridge for iced tea - but I didn't take the bags out after. Well, the bags were now in the sink! They had dumped the bags in there, put the basket back and left the coffee pot open? What? Why not just dump in the trash? AND I had left a tip in an envelope right next to the kitchen sink -- clearly marked, mind you - and they didn't take it!

Like I said - this is not a big deal but it is just too weird. Just strange. I'm still scratching my head.

Anyway. Still love my BoardWalk best! We had a great time in the pool, Nicole found a hidden mickey on the slide (it'll probably get painted over, but your butt slides right over it just at the first turn) and the BoardWalk entertainment was fun as always.

Welcome back! We're staying in a SV for the first time next year, would you suggest a room location? Could you see fireworks from your villa? Thanks!

I'd wonder if the misunderstanding had to do with regional differences, but even so, there's no reason for her attitude. Maybe she'd just ended a run-in with a very rude guest. I think that happened to me once. I asked a CM a question and she responded very snidely. I was so taken aback at her rude tone, I blurted out "Well, I was just ASKING. You don't have to be so rude!" Boy, did her attitude change-she was so nice to me after that.
How funny you got #3111 for your room. That was my room the first stay at BWV. Loved watching the buses across the way come and go all the time! And room ready at 9:00 am. Yes, they're certainly doing something. Mine was ready at 10:15 am.

We had 3111 on our first stay as well. That was about 3 years ago and we could see quite a few of the upper fireworks. I liked the location.

That was strange with the "dishwashing liquid", I would have phrased the request in the same way. As to why you would need it; there are coffee cups, pots, ect. that one would like to wash occasionally. :confused3

Other that that...sounds like you had a great trip and were able to meet alot of our fellow Disers this trip. Thank you for posting your report. :)

Ha! This is funny with three people all having the same room.

We weren't in the room any night at 9, so wasn't able to check out the view at all - glad to see someone else knows. Makes me glad we didn't go for the extra points on the BW view though! I do know the sun was very bright in the am - had to keep the curtains drawn!

That is really strange, regarding the CMs response. It sounds like she was not familiar with a studio layout. It does not have a full kitchen but does have a kitchenette, maybe she did not realize this? Still no excuse for her rude attitude though. I think, I would have had to mention this, the CMs response to your DGD when they brought the dish detergent, and the lack of cups & glasses, etc., on T&T day; to the BWV mgr. None are real big things, but they are also not the type of customer service Disney strives to provide, either.
Glad you had a great trip.
