First of all, let me say this is my 4,000 post here on the DIS. Yay!
Secondly, I'm back from a spending a fun weekend at WDW. Just visited MK and the resorts on the monorail line this trip, but still a great time. I'll have a full trip report and photos up soon, but here's a couple of thoughts at the top of my head.
Resort... My first time at the Contemporary. All in all, I thought it was a great resort. I had a room in one of the Garden Rooms and had a view of the Magic Kingdom. Great viewing for Wishes in the evening.
Crowds... Not bad at all. Never waited in line for more than 10-15 minutes for anything at Magic Kingdom. The only ride I noticed with a wait more than 30 minutes was Peter Pan for 50 minutes. Also, crowds were low enough where Fastpass on a number of attraction including Peter Pan, Haunted Mansion, and a few others were not opperating FastPass that day.
Dining... Ate at Liberty Tree Tavern, 1900 Park Fare breakfast, and Food and Fun Center. LTT and 1900 were both very good with wonderful atmosphere. Food and Fun Center seemed like basic resort food court items with a smaller selection and much smaller dining room than you would see at a value and moderate resort.
Characters... Didn't seem like they were out in full force, but still had a good presence in the park. I did manage to meet a few characters for the first time- Prince Phillip, Belle's Prince, Little John, Rabbit, Launchpad McQuack, Mr. and Mrs. Incredible, and King Louie.
If anyone has any questions, I'll answer them to the best of my knowledge.
