Hi,

Just got back from 3 weeks at disneyworld but also spent two nights at universal on the 27th and 28th September.

Overall I had a fantastic time, Spiderman and the Mummy are probably still my favourite rides in Orlando.

This was the first time I'd stayed on site and have to say with express pass included in the room it's definetely the way to go. The parks were dead on the Thursday so it wasn't needed that much but by the Saturday it was a godsend for bypassing 40 minute waits on the Hulk and Spiderman.

I really liked the HRH and loved being able to walk to the parks. We stayed club and would defintely do it again.

We attended HHN on the opening night and I absolutely loved it. I was disappointed with lack of scarezones but the houses were fantastic. I was glad we had express passes as the waits topped 60 minutes after around 8pm. The bill and ted show was really funny, and we'll definetely be attending this event again.

The only criticism I have is the staff seemed really disorganised when putting people onto rides, there was no one assigning people to rows, meaning when queues were 30 mins plus they were running cars with loads of empty seats? I didn't really understand this as they had staff standing there but they just let people organise themselves.

Overall though I really enjoyed my stay, but we'll do universal at the end of the holiday next time as FOTL really spoilt me and it was hard to go back to Disney and queue!

I was there opening night as well and did all the houses with S & S and EP for the evening. I don't fool with the rides during HHN...the rides are to be ridden during day...the night belongs to HHN. ;)

I miss the true scarezones too...like Fright Yard and Field of Screams from 2004 but I like the additional houses and MAYBE next year they can use IOA for HHN again.

Glad you had a great time and will be back! :thumbsup2

We only did 6 houses but could have done them all with EP, I wussed out after 6, not big into chainsaws so really didn't want to do Texas chainsaw massacre, but from peoples reviews it appears I missed out on a good house.

When I was talking about disorganisation in loading the rides I meant during the day time hours. I agree with you HHN is for houses not rides!!

I have never figured out why USO seems to instill a "Self Serve Boarding" on rides during HHN. :confused3 Lack of staff maybe.
Even on regular days they sometimes could use more staffing. During HHN, the ride attendants are few and far between. I am surprised people don't get hurt.
A few years ago I was what I call stuck on the Spiderman ride with a drunk male with an open glass beer bottle. He and all his friends were drunk. I was sure I was going to be covered in puke, beer and/or broken glass. I don't know how I got off safely. (And this was early in the night, sadly.)
Since then I have pretty much given up on rides during HHN.

That's something I have noticed the last few years at Universal. The first time we went in 2002, they had team members who assigned you into rows. But the last few times we've went, those team members were no longer there. Maybe a cutback by management?

Glad to hear you had a great trip!
