Back from the World

Had a great time. Spent time with lots of board members, and only some time in line . I was able to get all the trade parade pins. I have some for trade. I'm gonna try to get them organized by tomorrow night, but I do know I have:

Also had a great time at Kathryn's pin meet at the Contemporary, Friday night. Was able to trade for CM "locker pin", the 100 Years of Magic pin (#5237), Tink Around the World, and Annual Pass Holder (Mickey & Pluto). I also had some awesome good luck. A friend I met for the first time from the Community Board want's nothing to do with pins, so since I collect them, he GAVE me his pin from the tour he had just taken.......... The Keys to the Kingdom Tour!!! By the end of dinner, I think he was a little tired of my constantly saying thank you and "are you sure"!!!

Judith, it was quiet, it was patriotic, it was healing, it was fun.

They have the 4th of July decorations out. Most if not all guests wore something with red, white and blue. Wednesday and Thursday were very quiet. WALKED on to Test Track and Winnie the Pooh and watched empty logs goe down Splash. Thankfully Friday and Saturday, got a little more busy.

A CM at the Contemporary told me they had only 45 check in's last week..........

A lot of CM's have been "asked" to take there vacations. I saw no supertraders the 2 times I was at EPCOT. All the CM's we talked to said it had been very slow. CarolA was over at Key West and only had one other guest in her building. I'm just hoping business picks up soon.

There were lines to get in to the parks because of security checks. They check all bags and purses, but the observation made by myself and several of the people I was with, was that the check was more to give the guests the "you are safe warm and fuzzys" than to really "look" for something. However, let me say the effort was appreciated.

All that said, it was healing being there. It was comforting and familar to walk down Main Street, to eat in LeCellier (toasted you with a spoonful Nat ), to trade with CM's and at Kathryn's pin meet.

I realize some of this doesn't really track, but I'm tired and I was just typing what I remembered and felt. Hope it's semi-understandable!

How did you survive the sweltering heat at AK.....I felt sorry for you standing in the Pin Trade Line
....we waiting until it was almost over....then they changed the board just before we went
up, and I wasn't going to go at all..

Raul got the Elliot Mystery Pin LE of 1000, and the nice thing was that it hasn't been
released yet.....He has scored big every week,

I have been under the weather since the AK event, that heat there does me in every time

I am so glad that next Sat's is inside the Expo Hall...will you be able to make that one...it is just a 4 r
hr drive, and what is 4 hrs. for PINS>>>>

I feel jilted, and sad you came up all this way, and every time I went to talk to you or you came to me something happen or somebody else needed my undivided attention. ( it bites being so popular)

If you ask me I think the wife is a little nervous about you, and made sure people got in the way so we could not spend any time together. (wink wink nuge nuge)

Tell you what next time your up, lets do a food fun thing we'll stop everything, no trading no talking to other people just fun……. Well okay maybe a little trading.

Glad you had fun though now when do you get back up this way???

You guys are the best!! I've always enjoyed my visits to Disney, but since Kathryn has introduced me to her "extended family" I feel so at home as well.

Donna, I really enjoyed sitting and talking, and trading with you. I'm sorry you're not feeling well, but boy can that sun knock you for a loop!! We were able to cool down afterwards in the pin trading lounge with Kathryn and your family. That's when we were lucky enough to have Scoop tell us his Dindercella story.

Raul, I'm sorry we didn't get to spend any quality time together, and I'm also sorry I missed Pinboy. I can understand how hard it is to allocate your time, being so popular and all. (excuse me while I go get my boots.......) About the lunch thing, I'll be back Dec. 1st - 9th, but I'm really sorry, I've already booked my last open lunch with Donna, you know, your wife, the one who found the time to sit and talk with me and trade and just spend time with me and have some fun???
