Okay- let me begin by saying that this was our first stay at the Poly and it was GREAT!!! :cool1: We loved every second of it and will be returning next year with Grandma and Grandpa in tow. From the moment we checked in it exceeded our expectations. I wanted to hug the CM at the front desk when she told us our room was ready. I was a bit ill that first day and just wanted to lay down for a bit. (I'm 6 months pregant) Anyway- I can't say anything even remotely bad about the Poly. We enjoyed MK as well but really had a ball at MGM. Since it was Star Wars weekend it was a great Father's Day gift. On Father's Day we headed over there and had an amazing time!!! DS and DH loved it!!! We are pretty fortunate that alot of characters singled our kids out. They were eating it up! Even DD thought it was fun! I have to say that Disney did not dissappoint. The only prolem we seem to be having is that not all of our photopass pictures are on our photopass. I emailed them so I hope they find them. Other than that it was pure magic! :cloud9:

Glad you had a great time.

We just returned from the Poly as well and had a wonderful time as well.

What were your dates? Which longhouse were you in?

Sounds as thou you had a fantastic time.

We also just returned from a week at the Poly. We stayed Hawaii concierge and I think we had the best view of the castle in the world! The staff could not have been more accomodating and the hotel could not have been nicer. Every whim was taken care of and even some tough to get PS were arranged last minute for us when we wanted to change our schedule around a bit. I will always stay at the Poly (this was our first trip) because of how perfectly everything went there. The parks were hot and crowded, but we expected and planned for that. Arrived at opening every day and had little to no waits on any ride we wanted to go on. We had a wonderful time!

thank you for your post! I have recently switched to Poly from CR for our trip and was excited to read your review. Did you eat at any of the Poly restaurants? Was the room spacious? Did you have a balcony or patio? how long did it take you to get to each park from the poly? Lots of q's I know!!! I am very excited to go!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

I recently (June7-14) stayed in the Tahiti longhouse myself and loved it!!
THe third floor balcony on the lagoon side was great, we could see the fireworks and water parade nightly when we were back early. The best bet when going to Epcot Is to go directly to the TTC if your longhouse is closer to that side of the resort. The Tahit long house is a 4-5 minute walk from either the GCH or the TTC. The value of direct monorail transpotation to either MK or Epcot is priceless. It is very nice to go to the MK in the morning and leave around lunch when it is hot and crowded, go back to the poly and swim/relax. Then head back out refreshed for the evening. The room we had 3021 Was very spacious and had a great view of the castle and space mountain etc. The volcano pool was a big hit with DS-6 and DD-9 and at night the quiet pool was great. I personally loved the Poly room service, especially at breakfast. We found that breakfast at any of the table service resturants to be almost as costly, much more time consuming and not nearly as nice. After day 1 we never ate breakfast anywhere but our room. The menu was excellent from the mickey cakes and waffles to the stuffed french toast and omlets. And the fact that you can pre-order by hanging a little card on your door each night before bedtime (by 2 AM) was awesome. We would specify what we wanted and at what time. The CM would arrive with a fresh table cloth set the table, pour the coffee, bring the kids thier Mickey shaped crazy straws for thier milk and it was all still piping hot and delicious. what a nice luxury at breakfast eating at the table or in my cas on the balcony. Not waiting in line or waiting for my order. I highly recommend that all Poly guests try it at least once. And if you get a snack later the hot wings are outstanding!!
And as far as balconys go if you want one, then request a third floor room because in most longhouses the second floor has no balcony and of course no patio, those rooms are reserved for the people who are not smart enough to visit the disboards and learn better.
Hope you really enjoy the resort as well as the parks. It is definatley part of what you are paying for. And certainley will be an experience you and your family will always remeber. :goodvibes ::MickeyMo

I couldn't agree with you more aout the room service. We got room service for lunch one day and it was outstanding! Not even expensive! We have a 3 year old and a 17 month old so it was great to relax in our room with cartoons on while eating. The rooms were very nice size and for that reason alone we will be staying there again next year. We were in room 1937 in Tokelau. We had a patio and a nice view but nothing special. I think next year we will probably request a water facing room so we can see MK fireworks at night as our kids just couldn't keep their eyes open to watch from the beach and wanted to go to bed. We ate at all of the restraunts and the food was very good. Captain Cooks was okay but it's just burgers and stuff so nithing was bad but we kind of were tired of that kind of thing very quickly- that's where room service comes in! It cost just as much for room service as it did to get burgers and we had shrimp, pasta, quesadillas etc. I too highly recommend it. As far as transportation, that was the main reason we chose this resort. We travel with a double stroller and because our kids are very young (with another on the way!) we needed to be as close as possible to MK. Travel was a breeze. We never waited more than a couple of minutes for a monrail and it was a short, pleasurable trip. We took a bus to MGM and it was also a breeze. We did not wait long at all and when you leave MGM your bus stop is the first one out of the park so you don't have to walk 80 miles to get to it. Again, we only had to wait about 5 minutes. We cannot wait to go back! My kids loved the pools and playing in the sand at the beach. Everything was immaculate. I have been to Hawaii and the Poly is much more tropical! CM's were wonderful and very accomodating. I even accidentally left my ds's spiderman swimmies at the pool one night and we were able to retrieve them from the lost and found the next day! We were pretty impressed. The only negative- we can't live there! You are going to have a great time! I hope this answers any questions you may have. Feel free to ask away!
