I was so looking forward to our stay at the Poly and I was not disappointed! Absolutely beautiful resort. We had no issues whatsoever. Most of the CMs were very friendly - a few were not but thats like that anywhere. We were in Tokelau room 1927 and on the DDP. We did request Tokelau but in walking the resort and taking lots of pics any longhouse would be fine. Its a very compact resort but w/young kids Tokelau, Samoa, Rarotonga (loved this location), Niue would have fit our needs. But even the other longhouse aren't far away. Tahiti is probably the farthest. Fiji & Tuvalu you'd need to walk around the marina to get to pools, etc. but still not bad.

Lets see where to begin - still on a Poly high here so forgive me if I bounce around.

Theme pool was awesome - a little crowded on some days but really no problem. DS8 could touch everywhere in the pool - the deepest part of the pool is only 3'9inches (I believe). DS8 loved the slide. DD2 & DD5 loved the zero entry - it was perfect for them. Never went to the quiet pool but it looked nice too. Could see Wishes & Hallowishes from the pool/beach area - truly awesome.

Mousekeeping - no issues whatsoever. Our maid was very nice and friendly. No towel animals but that was fine w/us.

Capt Cooks - very confusing the first time - I was almost in tears (it had been a long day of traveling). But we got through it and the rest of our stay it was very easy. Love the flatbread pizza. We didn't care for the dole whips much - crazy I know but we tried them. CMs here were extremely helpful & friendly. This place is way too small for the number of people staying here - lines were very bad. But at disney there are lines everywhere so it didn't ruin our day or vacation one little bit.

Kona Cafe - Wonderful! Dinner was fabulous; breakfast was the usual fare. When we go to disney again we will defintely be eating here. Excellent CMs!

Arcade - Yes we "wasted" some time here but the kids loved it and it was good downtime.

The shops - loved the shops - too much!!!:goodvibes

I've taken 400 pics of our vacation - alot of them were at the Poly so as soon as I can I'll post them. For those wondering - we would stay there again but I would like to try out so others. We had a wonderful vacation and can not wait to go again.

Forgot to mention we did do MNSSHP and had a great time. MK at night is always fabulous but w/the halloween decoration - it was awesome.

So glad you enjoyed it! We are trying the Poly for just one night before our cruise, but after reading all the rave reviews, I have a feeling we'll be back!

Glad you enjoyed Kona - we have a breakfast ADR there the morning of our departure. Can't wait for DH to try the coffee and I can't wait for the Tonga Toast!:goodvibes

They were awesome - we had no issue w/the buses. In fact, we walked right on the buses - no wait except for once and we waited maybe 5 minutes. On the way back to the Poly we again walked right on the buses. We are so glad we didn't rent a car. But really its all in the timing.

Glad you had a great trip.

Did you have a full balcony?

Did you happen to notice which rooms DON'T have balconies?
Thanks
Kerri

We requested a patio instead only because we thought the kids would play on the patio area. They didn't - next time we'll request a balcony. The newer longhouses - Tahiti, Rapa Nui, Tokelau & Tonga I believe have balconies on the 2nd & 3rd floors - the others do not. They offered us Fiji 2nd floor and I knew at the time there would be no balcony so I asked if 1st floor Tokelau was available and if not we were willing to wait. And there was one.

Ok I think I have this figured out! Whew!

We'll start off w/the waterfall at the GCH - very beautiful. It does make it hard to hear in the GCH but it is beautiful.

One rainy morning I decided to take some pics from our patio. This pic is looking to the left. Most morning we could see Cinderella's castle & space mt. This is not a lagoon view by any means but it was nice to get a glimpse. This pic is too blurry and misty to see much.

Our room view looking straight ahead. We had visitors every morning - Donald Duck's relatives.

Quiet pool by Tokelau - we didn't use it but it did have quite a few people using it while we were there.

We had a wonderful stay and can't wait to go back in a couple years!

Glad you enjoyed your trip!

We love Kona Cafe for breakfast. So much so that we try to do it twice when we visit. :thumbsup2 And BouTiki, goodness the amount of cash I've dropped in there. :lmao:

Did you share bus routes with any other resorts? Where all did you travel by bus?

Thanks!:daisy:

We went to AK and MGM. We shared buses w/GF most of the time. The Poly was picked up first and then the GF. On the way home, GF was dropped off first. I remember one day we did share a bus w/CR from the AK. So sometimes it we shared w/GF and sometimes w/CR but not all 3 resorts at once just the 2. We didn't go to DTD - much to my dismay as I love DTD. We just ran out of time and w/DD2 we had to tone our trip down a little.

Thanks! Kona Cafe is just awesome. The food is so good and the service is too. No matter where we stay we'll always have a meal here. BouTiki & Trader Jacks saw alot of our cash too. However, I was disappointed that I didn't see much for ladies w/the Poly logo. Maybe I missed it but all I saw was a tank top. Found some stuff at MouseGears for me so that made up for it.

We were there at the same time! I remember seeing your son at the pool!

I was shocked at how bold the ducks and other birds were! One day we actually saw more that we bargined for at the pool. A duck landed in the pool and a "friend" came a courtin shortly after. My husband was cracking up! First the love bugs than the ducks! :rotfl:

Its a small world after all! (Still have that song in my head) Josh spent a lot of time on that slide and throwing a football around in the pool. I know - in Epcot I thought for sure I was going to get flown into but birds - I was ducking left and right. The kids loved the ducks-they visited us frequently on our patio. Glad we missed that encounter in the pool but what a riot. We didn't see many lovebugs this trip but they were there especially in AK. I hope you all had a great time! The weather was so hot and humid - didn't seem like October to me but I guess October is one of those months you just flip a coin.

Love it! We leave for the Poly in 18 days... :yay:

I was also hoping to find the women's clothing with the Poly logo. They did not even have a sweatshirt????

I didn't see anything but I always had little ones w/me so my attention wasn't fully on the shopping. I do remember some w/tinkerbelle on them. I hope you find some - have a great trip. We're still hoping to get back in a couple of years.
