Hello! We are back from our stay at the Polynesian. This was our second stay at this resort. Our first was in 2000.
When we pulled up (around 4ish) we were greeted right away and helped with our luggage (we had a lot!) Everything was beautiful like I remembered. MIL was impressed.
Went to check-in and there was a bit of a wait-all CM's were busy with other guests. When it was our turn we had a really nice female CM check us in. I don't know her name because she did not have her name tag on. I had made no room requests and we were assigned to Aerotero (sp) room #3208. I didn't ask to be switched I just figured I would take what we got.
Our room was ready so we went to check it out. It was a short walk from the GCH which was nice. Our view was of the monorail. At first I was a little disappointed, but after a while I really liked the room location.
The room itself was nice and big. I will say that it needs to be refurbished. It was not horrible, just noticed little things here and there. Overall it was very nice.
Mouskeeping was fabulous our entire stay. We received towel animals 3 times. I was like a little kid the first day we came back and had one.
I had a fever this trip (103) and was not able to be organized like I like to be. Mouskeeping was great cleaning around the clutter. 2 days we did not have them clean. Once beause I was stayed in the room to sleep all day and the other because DD was taking a nap when they wanted to come in. They were great though. BIG thimbs up!
All CM's we encountered were very nice and friendly. Almost always saying Aloha! We did receive some incorrect information. DH asked how to get to DTD. They told him we needed to go to the TTC. The lady at the TTC information said that they were always sending people there and that it was wrong. So we wasted 1/2 an hour that day.
DH and DD loved the pool. Especially the zero entry.
MIL, DH, and DD ate at 'Ohana (I was sick) and all loved it. We also ate at Kona Cafe one night and it was good also.
The walk to the TTC was GREAT! Monorail was great. Buses were great somedays and not so great other days.
Overall the resort was great, but DH and I have decided that it is not "our" resort. Don't get me wrong, we would stay there again in a heartbeat if nothing else we wanted was available. We are just going to try some other resorts to try to find one that is more us.
Any questions please ask.

I think he understands the convenience of the monorail with a stroller now.
We will probably go in December 2006. We try to go every other year.
