It feels quite surreal to think that I was in Disneyland Paris on Thursday and Friday - I was there less than 48 hours ago but it feels like a lifetime ago.

Highs
The Crowds on Thursday, or should I say lack of. We had the run of the parks and went on ride after ride while also having the freedom to take so many photos.

The Christmas theming was really well done and created a classy yet festive and fun atmosphere. The tree looked gorgeous and the snowy scenes around the hub were great too.

Santa Fe - while the outside looked awful, inside it was very clean and comfortable with the Cars theme blending well without taking over.

Toy Story Playland - in spite of being in DLP last year I never got to look round this area and it's fantastically themed with lots of detail and great use of familiar characters and settings.

The Magic - it's still there and I had to take a deep breath when looking down Main ST USA for the first time and seeing the Castle at the end - just beautiful.

The Lows
The crowds on Friday. Being Armistice Day we knew it would be busier than Thursday but wow, it was SO busy, and cold. Most rides were a no no, with extreme waiting times and ridiculous return times with fastpass tickets - some after the park had closed which was a little odd.

The maintenance of the park needs to be seriously looked at. The paintwork is tatty and some places like the Hyperion airship are filthy. The outside walls of the Santa Fe are a disgrace.

Bits missing from rides is disappointing when they have designated refurb times when the rides are closed. The dog and duelling pirates were missing from Pirates and the last Phantom was missing from Phantom Manor, to name just a few examples.

The price of the merchandise has taken a big jump and for the most part is no different to last year in range. In fact they've actually brought back some Disneyland Resort Paris merchandise and added some generic Disney parks merchandise. 8,99€ for a 1.5 inch Vinylmation? That's daylight robbery.

The biggest low was my own doing, but being in Disneyland Paris without Denise and Lucas didn't feel right. I had a great time but I need them there with me to get the full magical experience.

Overall I had great time and it was such an impromptu trip that it was all planned and over within a few days. I got to meet some great people and met some CMs who I'd been chatting to for a while online. Can't wait to get back in May to experience the 20th Anniversary and am also considering a day trip for the actual Anniversary on April 12th, but train tickets are already very expensive - we'll see.

Welcome back.

I agree very strongly about a couple of your points.
Some of the merchandise is well overpriced.

The Sante Fe, I have never stayed there, in fact we have only been to Disneyland Paris once earlier this August staying at the Hotel New York.

I walked over to the Esso petrol station a couple of times and couldn't believe the appearance of the Sante Fe from the outside, it's to be blunt horrible and like you say a disgrace.
No offence to any fans and like I say I have never stayed there or seen what it is like on the inside.

Welcome back! :wave2:

Glad you had a great trip! :goodvibes I can't wait to see all the Christmas theming... :santa:

Hope you get another trip (with your family) booked soon!

I thought the crowds was busy on Thursday (compared to Tuesday) so im glad we was home by Friday!

I dont suppose by chance it was you taking notes in the Princess Pavilion on Thursday just before it closed?

Welcome back, sounds like you had a fab time, albeit missing your wife & son:thumbsup2

The dog must have been taking out of POTC late on Wednesday - I'm positive he was there in the morning :confused3!

Welcome back Steve, good to hear your opinion of Santa Fe :thumbsup2

I completely agree with this, when I wandered along to the Santa Fe I was horrified by it, would never stay there. Disney need to sort it out.

As for your other points, glad you enjoyed the trip overall, having been there for Armistice Day last year I feel your pain! Looking forward to reading your blog update.
