Back from the Fort! Trip Report begins post #7!

Wow, that dude is seriously pirate-ish. Aaarghh.

YodaGirl - I can't get ovet the fact that you still have those shirts. Your little girl is soooooooooo cute! Like a little mini vintage FW diva. Adorable:cutie:

I was wondering - when you checked in at 8:30 AM ... how long did they make you wait for a site? Did you get to set up early or was it 1:00?

Also - does anyone know if you can buy extra biscuits/sides with the GAG?

Your setup looks great ... I am debating on whether to go get a screen tent before we go. We are new campers and slowly aquiring stuff.

You all look like you had such a blast - Thanks again for posting! popcorn::

Looks like you all had a great time. Your girl is just darling, she has the cutest cheeks. Can't wait for the final installment.

I can't believe I'm just now seeing this - I'm with KFK, been waiting for a report and somehow almost missed it!
Your daughter is so freakin' cute I can't stand it - I just love her little facial expressions! I didn't realize our DDs were so close in age - my DD will be 3 next month.
I love your report - and hats off to your mom on the tickets!!! That's the most expensive part of these trips!:thumbsup2

I'm glad that you didn't miss it! Three is one of my favorite ages. They're so cute at that age! My parents did do an awesome job with the tickets. We were all set to enjoy non-park activities since we plan to go back in March, but who can turn down park tickets?! :goodvibes

That holiday special sandwich at the Earl of Sandwich was sooo gooood.

Love the pics.

It was VERY tasty.

I am behind on my comments and observations:

1. That YodaGirl version of the SSHD looks pretty good. What do you have on there?

2. Love the Jesse costume!

3. When I saw this photo, I did a double-take:

I thought that Mr. YodaGirl was the prince in this photo, and that he was wearing tights. But, now I see that this is just Sleeping Beauty's prince. So, no further comment is required.

4. Your Headless Horseman photo from the parade is one of the best that I have seen. Good job on that one! :thumbsup2

5. I always get the holiday turkey sandwich at EOS too. That is a great sandwich!

Looking forward to more!

1. Cheapo Wal-mart hot dogs, cheapo wal-mart hot dog buns and some Lloyd's barbeque (also Wal-Mart special). They were yummy. I highly recommend them. :-)

2. Thanks!

3. While Mr. YG is very much my prince, I don't think anything in this world would get him into tights. :rotfl

4. Thanks!

5. It was yummy. Too bad it's a seasonal thing and we're rarely down there in the fall.

Sorry, but I forgot to post one of my observations.

You took a photo of this pirate at your MNSSHP:

I think I got a photo of the same one:

I wonder what this fellow does when he is not a pirate in the parade?

He sure makes a good pirate.

TCD

He does make an excellent pirate.

Thanks! My mom hangs onto everything. Sometimes that can be a good thing. ;)

They did have our site when we checked in. I think that someone has said before that they've gotten their site as early as 2 or 3am. I always plan to have to wait (we usually get there early, just not that early), but have never had to actually wait until 1pm.

Accordion playing hippie? :confused3

They weren't accordion playing, but we did have to VW van campers in the 2000 loop. Would've taken pictures, but the pesky camera was being silly.

Looks like you all had a great time. Your girl is just darling, she has the cutest cheeks. Can't wait for the final installment.

Thanks! Hopefully the final installment is coming right up!

Great, Great TR! And, well...........popcorn::

Thanks! I've been slacking (well, not really...teaching preschool and taking 15hrs has kept me quite the busy thing), but hopefully here comes the final installment!

Saturday is departure day. :(

My brother called around 9:30 while we were sitting down to tell us that he had made reservations at Trail's End for the slot for breakfast. Once again, I'm not a big fan of Trail's End lunch or dinner, but I LOVE their breakfast.

We had managed to get showers, dressed, break down camp, park at the outpost, take a bus to the Settlement, and be standing on the porch to Trail's End at 11am. I was pretty proud of us. We're not exactly the fastest movers of a morning. Guess the promise of mickey waffles lit a fire. :goodvibes

Sadly enough, I don't have any pictures of breakfast.

After breakfast, we took a quick trip to WL for some last minute Halloween souvenirs.

DD had to sit in the front of the boat in an attempt to re-enact the "Val-di-ri Val-di-rah" song from the campground video. The skipper (boat driver? whatever he's called...) was really nice and gave her LOADS of stickers.

We talked to him for a bit about DVC and any possible DVC buildings being built near the Fort. He's been a DVC member since the beginning. While he had no knowledge of a DVC near the Fort, he did tell me something that I didn't know. When he bought into DVC, it came with free park admission until 2000. I thought that was pretty neat.

Anyway, back to Clementine beach for a final picture:

Just now realizing how FILTHY my feet look in the picture. Must be the lighting, because I distinctly remember washing my feet when I showered just a few hours prior to this picture! :rotfl:

Then back to the bus stop to catch a bus back to the Outpost...

One last look back toward Pioneer Hall:
Photo0335.jpg

We stopped at the Meadows on the way back through, and it was there that I remembered that I was supposed to get some Disney Dollars for my mom.

When did they stop selling Disney Dollars at the Trading Post? Well, the guy at the TP said we had to go back to GR at Pioneer Hall to get them. Ugh! Too late for that. We were already leaving much later than anticipated.

I called the front desk to see if they had any up there, and sure enough, they did. Grabbed some once we got back to the Outpost, then we were on our way back north. :(

We stopped at Cartersville for the night (managed to get in bed by around 1am). It was a pretty nice KOA.

Finally made it back home Sunday evening. Glad to be back in my own bed, but already missing the Fort and planning our next adventure!
