We just came back from a great 7 day stay at the Boardwalk. We were there from 9/9/06 - 9/16/06. Everybody had a lot of fun, especially my son, niece and nephew.

We hit the 4 theme parks and rode almost all the rides we wanted to go on with hardly any wait time. Everybody's favorite ride was Soarin. Well, everbody except my wife that is. She is afraid of heights and she had a death grip on the side handles the entire time.

It was our first time staying at the Boardwalk and it was great. Having both EPCOT and MGM Stutios so close made it easy to return to the hotel for a much needed rest break. The kids also like playing in the community hall. We hanged out in the community hall while waiting for our DME pick up.

The only down side that happened was that we did not receive our trash&towel service. When we came back from the park, the do not disturb sign was hanging on our door. There was a phone message from house keeping saying that they did not come into the room because of the sign. The problem is that non of us put that sign on the door. I asked everybody and no one put the sign on. The only explanation I can think of is that someone in house keeping did not feel like cleaning our room and put the sign on door.

All in all, it was a very fun trip. Now I have to start planning for next year. :teeth:

Hi, my family will be staying at BWV for the first time in January. Tell me what your favorite things about BWV are. I know the location is great but what about some special things that you really liked. TIA! Glad you had a great vacation! Soarin' is my fav. too!!

Glad you had such a good time. I have one question. Did you use the sofa bed? If so was it one of the new "futon" types? I'll be there in a few weeks. I'm bringing my best friend since DH can't make it and we have a studio. I had heard that the new sofa's were in the BW and I sure do hope so cause I have the bed!! :rotfl:

Could it be possible that another guest somewhere on the floor did it as a joke? Or was it your sign? Just curious.

I thought that too at first. But then when I came into the room, our sign was not on the inside door handle. Somebody had to come into the room, remove it from the inside handle and put it on the outside handle.

We had a standard view 1 bedroom. It had the regular old fashioned sofa bed.

We really liked the pool slide. It's fun for kids and adults. Although I am not sure if it will be warm enough to use the pool in January. Also, if we had more time we would have gone to the community hall more often. It's a great place for the kids to play. They have game cubes, toys for toddlers, a foosball table, ping ping table, and an air hockey table.

I also recommend going to Spoodles. Their garlic shrimp is really good. My wife loved their bread and olive dip.

Thanks for the information. Hopefully it won't be to bad. Some of them really need to be replaced; and soon!

Last February, we stayed at Saratoga Springs on rented points (we weren't members at the time) and never got our room cleaned, fresh towels, or trash taken out. I actually washed the towels myself and we took out the trash. We never used the do not disturb sign, so that couldn't be the excuse. I wasn't positive what day the cleaning was supposed to be, so I let it slide. We were there 5 nights, so now I know we were supposed to get one mini-cleaning. Needless to say noone picked up the generous tip I had left out. Their loss!

The last 2 times we were at BWV we didn't get trash and towel.
I just took the trash out and "borrowed" pool towels.

and yes..... I did call housekeeping

It didn't bother me though - I love it at BWV!!!

Thanks for posting!

Oh yeah... we had a BWV studio with the new couch and it was sooo comfy!
