Hello-
we were in DLP last week and had a great time. weather was really nice too apart from the occasion shower on Wednesday which helped!
Im not normally one for moaning about Money but this trip (and its our 4th ) we really noticed the price of eating out-maybe just because of the way the Euro is.
We stayed at hny this time-we normally stay at sequoia-liked New york rooms bigger and can get room service which is great when you have kids.
They also liked the childrens entertainment in the evening.
Our room was ready at 11 am however absolutely stunk of smoke -reception said it would be fine with a spray but my husband persisted as we have the little ones and we got moved to a much nicer smelling room which was brighter too.
Kids had a ball at the parks-DD is now 16 months and loved the characters and went mad on Small World!!!
DS is a HSM fan so wore his wildcats t shirts alot and got picked out for participating in the HSM shows which were really good.
Last year we went in July and this year the park was a lot busier. Saturday was packed and that is saying a lot as we went on Bastille day last year!
luckily as seasoned DLP ers we knew where to go for quite spots and what to avoid etc but couldnt help feel for the kids queueing in the boiling sun on Thunder mountain or Crush!
Luckily for us the fastpass queues were so busy on a couple of rides that the machines werent keeping up and cms were handing out fastpasses instead which meant we could then go and put our park tickets in another ride and then hold a couple of fast passes at once which was a big benefit to save ds queueing.
The new stuff was great too DH went on tower of terror and really loved it and stich live was very clever.
Not sure what was going on with EMHs-one morning was just us in park other mornings everyone was let in at 9 but had to show hotel passes at the rope drop points at the castle and discovery land.
Unfortunately this was also the first year that we noticed a lot of pushing going on especially in queues. There was a certain nationality that were the main offenders every time Im afraid.Maybe just a culture thing
we were also surprised at the amount we walked -According to the pedometer on my phone we walked between 12-14 miles everyday! We even hired ds (4) a buggy on the 4th day as he was so tired(which was then sadly taken by someone else when we left it to go on a ride-luckily we got a replacement but had to link the hired buggy to our babies buggy for the rest of the day)
All in all it was a brilliant trip and we all had a great time and was the first year ds was big enough for thunder mountain -thank goodness for Fastpasses, but it just wasnt quite as magical as the last couple of years due to other peoples bad manners/buggy stealing and pushing in!
we will go back again next year and hopefully we can get the full disney magic back!
