Back from POR - A Review

Thanks for the review and pic. We'll be there in less than 90 days :flower: Sorry to hear about the food poisoning incident, but I am glad that the situation was rectified and all is well :)

Cindie-rella: All the buildings are now renovated, as Guest Services told me. And there was no construction going on while we were there. Sorry...I don't know about the availability of down pillows. We just slept on the ones given to us. They were comfy enough for us. We slept really well in that room, a combination of long days at the parks, the beds were really nice, no noise, and the room was perfectly dark.

Thanks for the Great review we will be there after Thanksgiving. My dh and I stayed at the Port Orleans and Dixie Landings for our honeymoon and 2nd anniversary, I can't remember which was which time! LOL

My dh got food poisoning towards the end of our anniversary trip, we had gone to Universal and he had a turkey sandwich with mayo. It had to be from there, the staff was wonderful at the resort, from defrosting chicken soup to walking over to the bar to get gingerale, canceling and refunding a "behind the scenes" tour. My dh was down for a day and a half, we were only there for 5 days. I wrote a note to the manager and a few weeks later he sent me 2 parkhopper passes to enjoy the next time we visit. That was soooo nice, especially since I told him where I thought he got sick from, not Disney!

Thanks and I wrote down your building number. My kids will be 6 & 8 when we go.

Tessqt: Sorry to hear that your DH was also down with the food poisoning during your anniversary trip. We had 10 days at WDW so the 24 hours that my DH was down and out didn't really have a major impact on our planned itinerary. It was just a frightening and upsetting experience watching how violently ill he became. It's nice to hear that POR took such good care of you and your DH. We were well taken care of as well.

Overall, we had such a great trip that we don't let those ugly 24 hours taint our impression of the entire trip or our great stay at POR.

For us though, when we travel again, I'd tell my family to be more wary of foods that have the potential dangers of food poisoning: cottage cheese (!!!), yogourt, sandwiches with mayo, cream cheeses, etc. Also cut chicken/beef burgers in half to ensure the meat had been cooked through.
