I was a little nervous when I booked the POP century. Our last 2 stays have been at the AKL, but because we were going at a peak time I wanted something more affordable. I was afraid I was going to be disappointed.

I was so wrong. POP was awesome. The buses were fab. We hardly ever waited for a bus. The only time was at Downtown Disney and that was maybe 7-10 minute wait. The rest of the time there was no to 5 minute waits. After leaving the Disney studios after the fantasmic show the line back to the pop century was very long. The first bus filled up, then a second pulled right up behind it. As the second bus filled up one pulled up beside it. I was so impressed by the bus service. I have to say it was way better than at the AKL. I would not hesitate to stay there again.

The gift shop was big and had lots of merchandise. The food court was big and easy to navigate. There were tons of tables and we were always able to find a spot. Never had to wait in line long to check out. I wish there were more cold type sandwich options and more non-greasy options for meals. But all in all it was great.

The themes were great. We stayed in a preferred room on the ground floor. Room 1108. Easy walk to the main building and short walk to the buses and to the airline check out service. We were the first drop off from magical express. The only thing I wish was that the values had refrigerators like the deluxes.

People have said that the walls are thin and you can hear other people. The only thing we could really hear was the toilets and showers. However, they werent really that loud. They didnt keep us up at night or anything like that.
We only noticed it if the TV was off and if we were quiet.

I was really impressed with this resort and would not hesitate to stay there again.

Next time we are staying at one of the epcot resorts. We happened to go to the Blue Zoo for dinner and rode the boat to EPCOT. That area is so beautiful we decided to check that out for our next trip.

Good report.

Just FYI, if you need a refrigerator, you can get one, you just have to pay for it. ($10/day)

I was a little worried my last trip.but had a great experience and loved the resort as well.I think that the values get a bum rush from people used to deluxe resorts.POP was a blast. The pools were fun,the food court was good(a little more variety would have been nice, but still a good food court),staff was very nice, room was fine,we loved it and will stay there again on our next trip.Unless of course,we hit the mega millions,in which case,Wilderness lodge-here we come!!!!(that or the polynesian-my dream vacation resorts since i was a kid!).

" I wish there were more cold type sandwich options and more non-greasy options for meals. But all in all it was great. "
thats exactly what i was looking for!

I am glad to see a good recent report on Pop. I will be there 2/28-3/3. I look forward to it and hope my expeirence is as good as yours was.

My son and I are staying at the POP from Sept 23-28th. He's 13 and I'm treating him to a mother/son vacation. Which building would you all recommend? He wants to swim at night and I like my room to be at least on the 3rd floor.

This is my first post ever on a discussion board. How did you all get your pictures under your user name. I also like that ticker thing.

I am glad you enjoyed PC. I will be sharing your report with my sister, who wil be staying there in 2009. She is worried. ;)

Great review! We loved POP also and will be staying there again on our next trip.

OP - Thanx for review! It's always good to hear good reports about POP. Glad you had a good time.
Drea19 - Welcome to the DISboards! I've made a few trips with just my 13yo DGD and she says she likes the 80/90's computer pool best because it's usually the least crowded. However, if I were you I would try to book a room near the Hippy Dippy Pool because it's sort of in the center of the action and you can kind of give him a little freedom as you relax poolside & enjoy a beverage from Petals Pool Bar.;) The HD pool is near the arcade, ping-pong, and food court. Have fun!

:thanks: Mousebit - I will put the tip in my planning folder. I booked a reservation through Disney and purchased one of their packages. After comparing other offers, booking the Magic Your Way Plan through Disney was a pretty good deal. I don't want to have to worry about anything once I arrive.
I think I'll ask the CM about how to make room requests when I call to make my ADRs.

My only concern right now is getting addicted to this board. I love hearing about everyone's trip as well as getting some terrific advice!

Glad you enjoyed Pop, we've stayed there twice and loved it both times. That was before we had a 4th child. Now we no longer fit in one room.

I've stayed at POP four times now, and love it. I was there last month, with my 31 y/o dd who was enjoying her first trip to WDW. Sad to say...she fell in love with POP. So much so that she was a bit disappointed when we moved over to BWV's!! I kid you not. She said that our one bedroom villa was very nice, and the resort was beautiful, but she wished she could have stayed at POP. Too funny.
In fact, when my ds and his wife drove over from Tampa to visit us and watch the football game that night, they also fell in love with POP. They take my daughter in laws 19 y/o dd and a friend to Night of Joy each year and routinely have them stay at the Radisson with them. But this year, they are getting the girls a room at POP because they loved it so much.

Thanks for the review! I only have 58 days until we arrive at the Pop for the first time! :cool1: :goodvibes I'm pleased to here the positive comments about the pop!:goodvibes

Thanks for the review!
I leave March 1 for a mother/daughter vacation with my 11 year old. I stayed at POP 2 years ago with my ODD and it was exactly what we needed. Love the food court. The buses were great, even with long lines more buses were used and it moved fast.
I have heard so many that do not like it, then again, I am NOT looking for a full service resort for this type of trip!

Got back from Pop 2 weeks ago. My mom & I took my 4 soon to be 5 year old neice. She fell in love with it. Cried when we had to leave "Why can't we live here?" I know how she feels. Grandma has promised her a return trip when she is 7. Put my 1st installment to the vacation fund in the bank today.
I highly recommend POP.
