We took our kids for their birthdays. They are now 7 and 4! We stayed at our "home" resort, the Beach Club Villas and the in-laws stayed at their home resort, the Boardwalk Inn. My husband and I went down with the 2 kids, my mother-in-law, father-in-law, brother-in-law, and his girlfriend. We took some time to visit a few other resorts: Port Orleans-Riverside, Port Orleans-French Quarter, and Boardwalk Villas.

We had dinner at the Polynesian Resort twice that week, one at Kona Cafe and the other at O'hana. We also had dinner at The Maya Grill, Cape May Cafe, an Le Cellier Steakhouse. I think my favorite restaurant this week was O'hana. It is a family style restaurant. They bring all the food to the table on platters and you pass it around family style, and the different meats come to the table on gigantic skewers! I have to say although LeCellier was a good restaurant, I think the best kept secret for steaks is The Turf Bar and Grill at Saratoga. The entire family agreed! Each night the restaurants would bring the kids cupcakes and ice cream desserts, and sing to them for their birthdays. They really got a kick out of having birthdays every night! LOL!

We had some other magical experiences this time. Chase got to be the Train Conductor at the Once Upon a Story store in Downtown Disney on his birthday! They asked him to start the train for the store opening that morning. It's a big train that rides tracks all the way around the store up near the ceiling. We also stopped to watch An American Adventure show in the theater in EPCOT. We were asked to step aside by one of the cast members and informed that we were going to be "The First Family" for the showing. They escorted us to an elevator that took us to the top floor balcony to watch the choir sing below, then we were escorted into the theater for the show before everyone else, and even introduced as The First Family. It was quite fun, and you can even see Bryan pretending to make a speech behind the podium. While we were picking the kids up some giant cookies at The Goofy Candy Company, the cast member noticed the birthday pins the kids were wearing and made them each big, giant complimentary balls of cotton candy to go with the giant cookies. We also went to the SpectroMagic parade at the Magic Kingdom, and had to get there an hour early. The cast members were awesome because they entertained the kids by passing out hula hoops and jump ropes to the kids and let them play with them up and down Main Street until the parade began!

The parks were not crowded at all and we had no wait times lasting more than 5 minutes except for Peter Pan and Toy Story 3, but it was raining at the moment so we didn't mind standing in line a little longer in the buildings to stay dry. The rain was a relief because it was HOT that week. The hottest day we had was 109 degrees with the heat index.

The only thing that didn't go so well was Taylor (DD7) ended up with a fever of 103 degrees and I could not get it to go down. So she ended up in the hospital Friday night into Saturday. Turns out she had strep throat. Who knew? She didn't say anything about a sore throat the entire time we were there. She was still very pleasant in the hospital and talked the ears off the doctor and nurses taking care of her. They said they never would've guessed how sick she was because she was in such good spirits. I think the buffet of popsicles they gave her helped!

This trip was many "first time ride events" because my son had reached 41 inches tall, and my daughter had reached 47 inches tall. DD7 rode Tower of Terror, Space Mountain, and Expedition Everest for the first time, but was not tall enough to ride my favorite, Rockin' Roller Coaster. DD4 rode Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, Toy Story, and Test Track for the first time. I thought we were going to get him on Tower of Terror, but he became scared just as we were getting ready to get on the elevator, so he and I had to skip the ride this time.

I have many pictures to share.
