LOVED the cabins! It was just our pace. Everyone agreed that with our kids ages, the heat and the 2 grandmas that I should have planned more Ft Wilderness time and less park time. We ended up having one full day at the Ft and every other day we did half days at the Ft.

Best part is that my 4 yr old twins learned to swim w/o floaties and my 1.5 yr old learned to float in a life jacket (previously she tipped over and required a baby float)

We had a 6 person golf cart and that made everything so easy. Even just drove our 2 double strollers onto the MK boat when needed. My DH must have told me 100 times what a great job I did on the cabins and that is was perfect for us.

So another family hooked on the cabins!:lovestruc:

Glad you liked it, it does have a different "feel" from other resorts.

I'm so happy your family enjoyed the Fort. My family also loves the Fort.
There is so much stuff to do there. We enjoy fishing and just cooking out.
The best part about staying in the cabins is that you don't have worry if little one crys or whines let at night. Plus it's more like having your own place then staying at a hotel room.

I can't wait until we get to stay there!

You can drive strollers right on the boat? Did you walk to the marina? How did your stroller do on the resort bus? We have a HUGE stroller that only folds flat, so we had hoped to walk to the marina. It's about a half-3/4 mile from the 2100/2200/2300 loops, right? That's not very far.

how did you handle the sleeping arrangements? We will have 3 adults and 3 kids, and I'm a little stumped. I'm thinking about bringing a small air mattress sleeping bag combo for one of the kids, or putting 2 kids on the bottom bunk, and then maybe putting my dad on the other bedroom bed, so we don't wake him up when we get up in the morning to get ready for the park. His health is poor.

Can 2 adults fit comfortably on the murphy bed? My dh is 6'2 and 200 lbs, and I'm 5'5" and 145, so we're not huge or anything. But we're used to a king bed.

Odd question, is there a vent fan over the stove?

Sorry for all the questions! I loved your review, so I hope you don't mind. :)

So, you are a good daughter/daughter-in-law. You brought BOTH grandmas along. Did all of you fit into one cabin? How did everyone get along in the cabins?

It is closer to a mile from 2100 loop, about one half a mile to the Meadows. You will not have a problem on the internal buses no matter how big your stroller is because they are very seldom full.
There is an fan with the micro wave which is mounted above the stove.
Have a great trip you will love the Fort and the cabins, we do:lovestruc

We also just got back last week after staying in the cabins. We were in loop 2400. I absolutely LOVED it. The bus transportation was great and we never needed a golf cart. Loved the ease to MK via the boat. I don't think I could stay anywhere else other than FW while visiting Disney.

I had stayed in the cabins about 25 years ago when I was a kid. Loved it just as much as I remembered.
