Back from a long weekend at OKW. We checked in Saturday afternoon. Had a choice of locations - if we wanted to wait we could have had Building 28, but decided to take a dedicated two bedroom back in Southpoint that was ready right away. Loved the room. It was very clean and so spacious. I LOVE the feel of OKW with the palm trees and tropical plants. I'm a diehard VWL and BCV fan, but our family has decided that we want to stay at least once a year at OKW. It really charms you - like a quaint storybook neighborhood with all the trimmed in white porches and pastel colors of the buildings.

We did Mickey's Christmas Party Sunday night. The whole family loved the fireworks. I've never seen fireworks make squares and hearts in the sky - wow. And we also saw tinkerbell fly from the castle (that was a first for us). I bet she was cold last night, though. Hopefully she had on her long johns. It got chilly - 40's I would guess.

Wonderful trip. We really enjoyed it. All Disney Castmembers were great. The little gal that checked us in at OKW was a sweety. I think her name was Abigail. Very nice young lady.

Thanks for the report. I love the feel and look of OKW too! It's not as flashy as VWL or BCV but it sure feels like home.

We just love our home resort, the others are fun to stay at also, but there is no place like home.

So glad you liked our home! Let's just keep it our little secret though. ;)

No, kidding, I want to be able to get in there some at that 7 month window. Maybe I should complain about being in the back at Southpoint (I like it back there, actually - hee hee, shhh).

That's my favorite area too. I especially like building 55.

Me too, Diane. Southpoint is quiet and I like that. We were in Building 56 and I liked it. I don't mind walking to the front of the resort - I need the exercise.

We stayed on Millers Road once by the quiet pool over there (I think that's the name of the road) and I liked it, too. But I actually like it further in the back the best. Probably a lot of people don't want back there because it's far from the action of the main pool, so maybe that means I can get my request more often - hee hee.

hey we all agree....

building 18 and 55 are my favorite buildings. they have (in my opinion) some of the best water views....

I agree Pat, except that building 21 is my favorite in the Miller's Road area. BUilding 56 is fine, but if you happen to be on the end units near the road, the bus brakes can be an issue.

I aggree, Southpoint is very nice. Believe it or not we have been 3 times now, ask only for non-smoking and all three times we have been in bldg. 46!! This May we will be there again in a 2 bedroom with our son and his family.. Wonder where we will be..

We will be checking in on Sunday for our first OKW visit. We asked for 56 because it has an AED in the building and our 13 yr old has a heart condition. ALso we asked for non-smoking. Hopefully we will not have a problem being bumped from the request. Are even or odd number rooms on the lake side? Do the rooms numbers climb towards building 55 or get smaller?

THanks
