Back from OKW & BC 7+ days - mini trip report

We used the Miller's Rd pool in '04 when we were in bldg 62. Had no trouble finding it though. I did recall alot of vegetation, but we just followed the sidewalk around Miller's Rd and it led us right to it. It was maybe a 4-5 min from #62. So I would think the walk from #18 would be much shorter than that. But maybe it "felt" longer because it was so cold out ? We actually had a much longer walk from our room to the main pool at the BWV when we stayed there. We were about as far from the pool as one could be placed. I still think you're very brave to have dared the water in those temps.
This is the only "quiet" pool we've actually used at OKW so far. MY kids usually want to go to the main pool. This past summer we were near the Turtle Pond pool, but the 2 days we attempted to use it was closed due to weather. All I noticed were the skies were dark and it was spittin' a little. The main pool was still open ? I've never even seen the Southpoint pool (again, because the kids usually want the main pool), but I heard that one is nice.
I think the South Point pool and hot tub is our fav OKW quiet pool. But then, that's my favorite area of OKW too. Haven't gotten that area in a long time. Maybe this trip, I'll get lucky again!

Thanks for the trip report.

You are correct that many of the rooms on the 5th floor of the Beach Club do not have queen size beds and the rooms are much smaller due to the layout of the roof and the way the balconies are shaped. We have been in those 5th floor rooms and asked to be moved because of the beds.

Glad you had a wonderful trip!!

Two trips in December....that's so NOT fair. ;)

We are leaving in 10 days, Friday thru Sunday, just the wife and I. Then we are going for 6 days to celebrate New Years with the kids (3), and my brother, his wife and thier 3 kids. The first trip was a last minute thing. We wanted to enjoy the parks alone during Christmas without the hassle of entertaining 8 other people.

Spending a little Holiday Magic Time with the Wife!!

MsA - okay so it wasn't just my eyes.... I really did not think those were Queens. But I asked nicely at the Concierge desk and she called down to the front desk who said they were queens. I didn't have a tape measure with me and I didn't want to blow the Concierge experience...so we just sucked it up. Thanks for letting me know I wasn't crazy. (at least for that one moment in time).

Hey, friend! Just wanted to check in and say GREAT REPORT! Not long and full of excrutiating details like some I know. ;) Bonus that you got bumped to concierge but sorry about the long lines. Sounds like you managed to have a great time. Have you written restaurant reviews yet? I'm interested to hear what you thought about Spoodles. Thanks again for giving me the link!

WOW... what a great report! Thanks for all of the info. This is what Disney is all about!

Great trip report. Just one thought though, if this was a mini report, how long would a monster report be? :teeth:

Simzac, are you insinuating that I'm long winded? ::yes:: Okay fine.....I'll cop to that. But we were there almost 8 days!

Actually, the monster reports I'm referring to are ones I've read by other DIS'ers - Utah Mama, TwinkieMama, kpk89 (Meanest Mommy) and horsegirl which take months to complete. And I also include the smaller reports that take days to complete and much more work than my one shot brain dump.....Lauralee131, Lexmelinda and many, many more DIs authors who thrill us, make us laugh and especially cry. I didn't have time for drama!

I just had so much to do this week just back from WDW that there was NO way I could do anything more. But writing about our trip actually helped me get over the fact that we weren't at WDW anymore.

My DD7 was actually humming the tune from Beauty & The Beast show tonight before dinner. Great memory...we had great seats (3rd row). Never hesitate to walk down front to see what's available. For both Beauty and Nemo we did just that and it worked to our advantage. I don't think I've ever done that before. For Nemo we were in the first row of the 2nd section so the puppeteers walked right past us.

Anyhow......back to work. Holiday House Tour on Sunday. Can't wait till it's over and I can decorate my own house. And today I became an aunt. :yay: :yay: My sister had her first and only child in NYC today - unfortunately by emergency C-section (they thought the cord was around his neck). But that's okay because they are both fine. She says he's really cute. I have to wait till Monday/Tuesday to see her and I'm itching to drive down. :moped:

Have a great weekend all...
