Just got back home today after a stop over at Ashford Travelodge overall we had a great time. I am intending to do a full TR in the next few days but have so much washing food shopping etc, you know what it's like when you come back.

Stayed Sunday night and following Friday night at Ashford Travelodge before the Eurotunnel. 1 night at the Hotel Premirre classe at Bussey St Georges on the Monday so we could be in the park for 8am EMH. Both hotels were basic, but were fine just for sleeping in.

Highs
1. Staying at the HNY, it is such a lovely hotel we loved the chocolate coins in the evening, the twin sinks, the Christmas trees, the theming in fact everything about it and it is so nice not have the scrum to get the shuttle and be so close to the park and village.
2. Being upgraded to a lake view room right over the ice rink.:cool1: Wow what a view and as Monday's fireworks were postponed to Tuesday due to high winds we were able to watch them in our room in bed. Which was really handy with two tied children.
3. Princess meal - Fantastic. Timed this for 6pm on Thursday which was lucky as the crowds were very busy in the park due to a French holiday and we missed some very bad weather for the 2 and 1/2 hours we was in there, the service was brilliant. It's expensive and I did not like the starter and I would not normally ever eat somewhere like this, but it was worth every penny for the princess interaction and to see my DD face. We saw Belle, Cinderalla, Suzy, Perla, Snow White, Aurora and Price Phillip they all came back for a second visit. DD was dressed as SW and SW spent a very long time taking and dancing with her. At the end of the meal when most people had gone the princesses and prince was standing around the dance floor so DD went up do show them some of her dance moves and even had SW Aurora and Phillip dancing with here for ages, just fantastic.
4. We had 2 days Tue and Wed of the park being very quiet and most rides being a walk on.
5. Being able to pick up our Hotel Easy Pass and park tickets the evening before our stay.
6. Finding out we had been upgraded to Empire floor benefits:cool1::cool1:.
We had a free character breakfast every day on the Empire floor you could turn up at any time and mostly this was empty so we had the breakfast room and characters to ourselves, goofy spent a long time rolling on the floor and I never heard DS and DD laugh so much. We had pancakes with strawberries and bacon and eggs it was yummy. The other benefit was we had a free tea between 4-6pm we had hot choc toast and jams cakes, sweets etc so between this and breakfast we did not need to spend any money on food so saved us a packet.:cool1: We felt very lucky each time we got in the lift and pressed the Empire Floor button.
7. Coming up to our room on the first night and finding 2 Disney Bolt dog Plushes on our beds.
8. EMH being able to ride Buzz, Peterpan, Dumbo, Orbiton, Pinnochio and tea cups tons of times before it got busy.
9. We had some great character interaction in the parades and shows DS and DD dressed up as Woody, Buzz, Ariel Sully, Peter Pan, SW and Belle and this really made a difference. The characters really love to see someone from their story. DS had fun scaring Sully in CAS, showtime spectatular and the meet and great. Fighting with Captain Hook in the OUAD parade and dancing with Woody and Jessie in CAS. DD as Belle has really taken to Gaston and has meet him twice in CAS.

Lows
1. We wanted to go on the balloon, but in was closed due to weather conditions for the whole time.
2. Weather it rained / showered every day and my trainers and spare pair were rubbish, so I ended up with wet smelly feet everyday.
3. Crowds and very long lines Thur and Friday due to be a French holiday. However we had been on all the rides and more on the quite days so used this time to see the shows. Also DD dressed up as SW and was allowed to go straight on the ride via the exit and DS was dressed as Peter Pan and was allowed to have unlimited fastpasses for Peter Pan.
4. DD being elbowed in the eye in a park scrum. We new which area Woody and Jessie went to when they got off the Train so waited there for them. DD was about to have a photo taken when was elbowed and pushed to the side by a much older child. This was the one and only Scrum of the holiday we only then used official meet and greats.
5. Loosing DS (3):scared1: It was our last day (fri) and the park was very busy so we decided to explore adventure isle as we had never done this before and we had over an hour to wait before the parade. We spend 20 mins exploring when DS suddenly run off, I had only turned round for 1 second to speak to DH and he was gone, There was 3 different ways he could have gone so we was running around frantically shouting for him. We reporting him missing after 10 mins with a CM at the treehouse and spent a further 15 mins running around like loonies looking for him. It was getting dark and I was frightening he might climb over the ropes and fall into the water. Finally we decided DH was to stay and look for him and I was going to the lost child centre. On the way I asked at a food vendor if they had seen him and he took me to the shop. The lady in the shop had found him walking along by himself he was not worried and did not cry and was happy playing with a Buzz Lightyear potatoe man in the lost child centre.
6. On the way home missing our Euro tunnel check in by 5 mins so having to get a train 1 hour later.
7. DD breaking the arm and leg off the Mickey Christmas decoration she was going to carefully hold on the way home.

Lots of highs there, even in such awful weather - but omg :scared1: losing your child - I think thats every parents worst fear in a busy place! Thank goodness he was okay.

Firstly, at losing your DS, my DD did that to us on our last trip at Woody's Round Up :scared1: so glad you found him before too long.

Congratulations on the upgrade!!! I would love that - esp as I'm going with my MIL! :rotfl2:

I'm thinking about doing Auberge for an evening meal on our next trip so I will look forward to reading your trip report! :thumbsup2

Welcome back! :wave2:

:scared1: at losing DS ~ we lost one of our DDs on a beach at the Isle of Wight once and it was the longest 5 minutes of my life ~ and  at your poor DD being elbowed in the eye.

But yay for all the Pixie Dust you were sprinkled with on this trip. :wizard:

Thanks, no trip booked yet thinking of Halloween next year. Hopefully the weather we be better and based of all the photos in the TR I have read the park looks fab. No sure about how scary it may be for DS 3 and DD 5?

Thanks HNY is just ace we would love to stay there again. I think next time we would like to try one of the other hotels. Plaining to start my TR tomorrow at work if we are not too busy.

The highs outweighed the lows. We were prepared for the weather with umbrellas, rain cover for pushchair and winter ski jackets and trousers for DS and DD.

Loosing DS was the worst moment. I could not think of a worse place in Disney as Adventure Isle as there is so many places to hide and water to fall in.

Thanks, I did email Disney before I went to ask for a nice room and the one we had last year in the Sante Fe was dark and a bit damp. I also mentioned I was a shareholder so maybe that was it. Worth a try?

Auberge was great we booked for 6pm which was when it opened and got there about 5.50 there was about 6 family's in front and more then that behind. It was just DD and I and we were led to a table in another room as far away from the dance floor as you can get. I asked for one closer to the dance floor and was told this was just for groups of 4, eventually I was give the choice of 2 tables both were only about 5 meters from the dance floor which was fine as we could see when the dancing started. We meet SW, Cinderalla, Suzy, Perla, Aurora and Price Phillip. They spend a long time with us and all came back at least one more time. Dancing was ever 30 mins. It was not that busy about 3/4 full. We left at 8:30 as we wanted to watch Fantillusion. From around 8pm most people had left and there were just the prince, princesses and mice on the dance floor with DD and one or two other children. DD was treating the princesses her dance steps and danced with Snow White who she was dressed as and Prince Phillip. We have never been to Auberge before and last year DD was sick on the day we should have gone, but based on our experience I would recommend it. We we got out IASW was a walk on so we had a quick go before waiting for the parade to reach us.

Thanks. DD was so upset but I had a pengiun choc biscuit in my bag so she soon cheered up. This was the one and only scrum of the trip.

DD was so happy when she saw the castle lit up and tinkerbell sprinkle her pixie dust. This more that made up for it.

Halloween it is then. My daughter already has a thing for Gaston and is quite keen on Cruella and the Evil Queen after seeing them so many times in SAC.

Definitely worth a try!! Which email address did you use out of interest?

That sounds like a plan! DD loves Auberge so it is a MUST DO for our trip and it's looking like an evening meal might actually work better for us. So much to do, so little time! ;)

Sounds like a super trip! Heard bad things about Ashford Travelodge, booked for mid- December. Was it ok? Breakfast any good?

I called to request a room near the facilites (this is for the cheyenne) but to have one of them rooms you have to pay extra but I said I cant afford too and she said that the rooms are usually booked up but she checked and said they werent so I have had a request put in :)

Stayed here 3 times now. Hotel was basic and clean. Tea and coffee provided bed was too soft reception very helpful. Would not hesitate to stay here again.

Did not have breakfast we always bring our own cereal, plastic bowel and milk. I read that children go free with a paying adult.
