Well, we are back from our one nighter and here are my thoughts. First let me clarify, we live fairly close to vero and the beach is very similar, the erosion doesn't seem as bad by us though, so although we love the beach, it wouldn't effect us in the same way as someone emerging from a hideous northern winter. To us its something we see everyday. Also we didn't eat at any restaurants, so can't comment on that.
I was surprised at how unimpressive that area is when you follow the directions in the dvc book. I had read about that but still wasn't quite prepared. The resort looks very pretty and nice, the lobby pretty, not spectacular but nice. We had a 2 bedroom in builing 15 which I thought was absolutely gorgeous. Now that was spectacular! The pool gets extremely crowded but its very nice and they had a dj and lots of games for the kids. Better at night, much less crowded!! My daughter had no trouble making friends to play with in the pool. Got a metal detector... my daughter was hunting for treasure with no luck, this morning I was reduced to buying things from the giftshop and hiding them in the sand for her to find
Anyway, I'm glad we checked it out. We will be back I'm sure, although not anytime soon. We prefer a little more action , but it was relaxing although I guess the pool in the daytime I couldn't call relaxing because it was just too crowded. I Also think disney should spring for a lifeguard by the ocean. For you northerners yearning for some beachtime, I can see why you would really love this place.
