Just got back yesterday from Disney. We stayed 3 nights in the main lodge (annual pass rate) and five night at BWV on our points. We got upgraded from a standard view room at the WL to woods view (looking straight at the villas). But boy, the regular rooms in the main lodge fall way short of even a studio at the villas. We missed DVC so much. No fridge, no microwave, no toaster, no sink. I thought all the deluxe hotels had fridges, but apparently that is not the case.

When we checked into BWV on Sunday, our standard room studio was ready (11:00 a.m.). We ended up with a dedicated studio (with the daybed). We were looking at the entrance way. Room was in pretty good condition. A few knicks on the corners of the walls, but nothing major. We did have to call maintenance to have them change a smoke detector for us. The smoke detector was going out and would occasionally beep for about 10 seconds.

We had been on a waitlist for more BCV points, but found out they had BWV points available. So we just added some more on at BWV. The standard view point option weighed in heavily on that decision.

We noticed some work going on behind the sign across from Bonnet Creek. The DVC Coming Soon billboard sign had workers digging with some equipment from behind the sign. I wonder what they were doing? We noticed this yesterday when we left for the airport. Anyone know any more?

All in all, we had a great trip. Pretty good weather and can't wait for the next trip in late spring.

Glad you had a nice trip! We are doing a very similar trip next month - we will spend 5 nights in a 2 BR at BWV, then 2 nights at the WL with an annual pass rate. I know it's going to be a litle hard going from a 2 BR to a standard room (especially with 2 teen boys!), but at least we got to extend our stay that way! I'm sure it will help me appreciate my DVC even more!

Thanx for the report, and glad to hear you had a good trip! :)
We have stayed at the Poly many times, and only had a fridge when we stayed concierge level. When we stayed at the Poly non concierge, we were able to request a fridge at no charge. We had a fridge during our only stay at YC, but again that was concierge level.
I'm not convinced that a fridge is standard in a non concierge room, but I could be wrong. :drinking:

Glad you had a great trip! We're looking forward to being back at BWV in March!

Odd about no fridge's in the deluxe's. We stayed at POR for our last night after our DVC points stay, they had a fridge in the room, and we were told all the moderate's now had fridges.

DeeCee735,

We stayed 2 nights at French Quarter last year before DVC and we had a fridge in the room. That's why I thought it strange that the main lodge room didn't have a fridge. We really could have used it, too, with Roaring Forks being remodeled.

Glad you had a nice stay. I agree about the BWV SV being a factor in getting points there.

That's weird that you didn't have a fridge. We stayed one night in the main lodge last month and had a fridge - it was tiny, under the sink in the vanity area.

My understanding is that they don't actually have enough fridges for all of the rooms but they are available for free for any one who wants one. All you have to do is call MouseKeeping. This is what we did on our December trip.

Of course it is safer to have the request for one on your reservation because they could run out during busy season.
