We were 5 adults in a 2 bedroom BCV villa from 1/7-1/12. Checked in at 2:30pm. The CM assured us that we would have 2 queens in the second bedroom and showed us on a resort map 4 choices of room we could have. We took a fourth floor Epcot view. In retrospect, that view isn't that great considering we never were in the room to see the fireworks and you stare at the road before Epcot. It was still a nice room though and other than a couple light bulbs out, nothing was wrong.
We had several nice meals down there including Flying Fish, Cape May Cafe, Fulton's Wolfgang Puck's and Portabella Yacht Club. With 5 adults eating and drinking, we got plenty of use out of our DDE card. Service was good some places, bad others, and we were not on DDP. So DDPers, bad service does not discriminate between you and those paying OOP. The one thing I did not like at all was the standard drink menu that every bar has now. The same stupid blue martini is at every bar, ESPN, Belle Vue Lounge, Martha's Vineyard, Ohana's Bar, etc... The beer selection is God awful, and is the same everywhere. Martha's Vineyard no longer has the great wine selection displayed in the preservation system behind the bar. It is just a sad empty case now. The drink standardization is awful. I am sorry to see WDW move in that direction. As far as standardized menus go, I really didn't see it. We ate mostly at Signature restaurants though, so maybe that is why I didn't notice it.
DW and I were tourguides for 3 friends. We did all 4 parks in 2 days. Way too much for us, but our friends liked seeing everything. Lines in the parks weren't bad. We did not even do one fastpass. We were given Dream fast passes by the "Dreams Crew" when we boarded our car on Star Tours. We never used them and gave them to a family as we left MGM. It was cool to get it though.:thumbsup2
Last thing, the crazy part was when I was in the room alone, water began pouring onto our balcony from a drain in the ceiling above it. It was like an outdoor shower that lasted about 2-3 minutes. Luckily, no one was out there. It soaked the balcony and the plastic furniture on it. No harm done, but imagine if someone was under it when it happened. I called maintenance about a problem with this drain. Well, when I got back in my room later DW told me maintenance came around to check the kitchen drains and found nothing. Of course, they assumed the drain was in the kitchen, not above my balcony. I did not pursue it, but we did look up the rest of our trip.
Sad to leave, but look forward to next January at VAKL.:yay:

Sounds like you had a nice trip despite the craziness! There was talk about the standarized drink menu I believe over on the Dining Board but now that it has finally happened I guess there will be lots of disappointment. The fun part was going to the different resorts/bars and trying out their signature drinks, it definately takes the fun out of it. :sad2:

So -- have you written a letter to send to Guest Communications to express these feelings?

We had the same thing happen to us (water pouring on our balcony from above) during our BCV stay in November. We were in room 233, which has a PALATIAL balcony, so it was no problem for us to just move away from the deluge. I think in our case, there was a leak or overflow of some sort in the room above. Everything else during our stay was fabulous though, so much so that we decided to add on at BCV:cool1:

My dd once knocked over a can of sprite on the balcony and it poured to the balcony below  do you think that could have been what happened to you?

I think all restaurant service is generally off now due to the DDP, it's not just if you are on the plan.

Geeze the things you don't notice over the years.:scratchin

The drain really pours onto the balcony below it? I would hate to be the guy on the bottom with the above balconies pouring down one onto the other until WHAM the raging river appears on the lower balconies.

I'll have to remember to look up.

Yup, that falls under the "crazy" category as far as I'm concerned! Bummed to hear about the standard drink menu! It was not in place a few months ago (Oct. 2006) when we were there. Going back in a few weeks and will report back.

That awful Blue Martini was made in order to celebrate the Year of a Million Dreams! Unfortunatly, that martini tastes more like a nightmare!:lmao: :lmao:

I was at BCV also, checked in the day after you. It was the first time I had to wait for a room, since front desk told me the only available room was a HA villa. So I guess 1/7 was pretty busy. I didn't have any problem with the drain above me, but there was no "above" since I was on the 5th floor. Weren't the crowd levels great? I also got the Dream FP, but 2 of the 6 attractions that usually have FP were operating without FP, so I didn't always need it. Kind of chilly a few nights, but wasn't it nice toward the end of the week?
