Hi all we just return from our combo trip to AKL and BCV.

2/16-2/20 Animal Kingdom Lodge
2/20-2/25 Beach Club Villa’s

The first four nights of our trip were at the AKL. Let me just say it was a great resort. We loved the lobby, viewing the animals from our room and the restaurants. We were midway down the Kudu Trail overlooking the middle Savannah (room 5311). We would definitely recommend AKL. It was also nice doing the small hotel room before the larger 2 bedroom villa.

We switched rooms midway through our trip and spent the next 5 nights in the BCV our home resort. We went to see about check-in at around 10am. From the looks of it our room was not pre-assigned. They were not able to give us our request for pool view (I offered to switch to a dedicated w/queen and sofa if they needed). They looked through a list of rooms to choose ours and gave us a number to call back. I called at around 1pm and our room was ready. The CM’s at the desk were pleasant and efficient.

BCV room 367 – Dedicated 2 Bedroom w/2 queens. The room was clean and in good shape. There were only two minor places that were damaged. One was the veneer on the dining table was chipped. I think this was a poorly chosen design for a highly used table. There was also a small amount water damage next to the shower. This room was directly over the canal facing spaceship earth and had a good view of the higher fireworks from Illuminations. There were 2 small balconies in the unit with only a window in the second bedroom. The positive aspect of this room was that viewing of the fireworks from the room was very nice for my older DD and the closeness to the pool elevator and the self-parking lot, The negative was the thumping of cars and trucks over the bridge junctions. We did notice the noise. It wasn’t that bad but it wake my DH a little earlier in the morning then he wanted. However I’m not sure pool view would have been better. There were some kids having fun around 11:30pm one night in the pool – not obnoxious – just a little loud for that time of night.

We had great weather, 80’s and sunny. What made it a little sweeter was that at home it was in the 20’s and snowy.

Thanks for the trip report - glad you had a great time!

Thanks for the report!

My DD and I can't wait to go for our annual spring break trip. Here's hoping we'll have warm and sunny weather!
