Back from Acadia National Park

It was AMAZING! We loved it, everything we love to do was there. Wonderful hiking for all levels, we rented bikes and rode the awesome carriage trails, took a boat tour and stopped off in a little fishing village. Had LobSTUH every night. Visited Schoodic which was less touristy. Bar Harbor was fun. Just beautiful. The weather was wonderful -- NO humidity, but the mosquitos are on steroids up there. The kids discovered looking for sea glass. I didn't want to leave. Thanks to all you Mainers and Maine vacationers who helped with your tips. If anyone is driving up on a weekend -- beware the beach traffic heading to coastal New Hampshire. On the way home I swear the traffic was backed up for at least 100 miles on a sunny Saturday. Of course the most fun was making sure we always wore our NY Yankees gear and hats. We did get harrassed just a bit, I told the deli guy not to spit in my food. It was all in good fun.

I just read your thread on the low carb pizza and it reminded me that I ate pie, lots and lots of pie! Blueberry, graham cracker cream, custard, fresh raspberry with homemade whipped topping. Not to mention the Hood's ice cream bars every night. Maine was fattening!

At some point in our lives,we plan to move to Maine. We just love it there! Bar Harbor is unbelieveable!!!! Our vacation next year will be on the Maine coast somewhere! I just started to look for cottages to rent around OOB,Scarborough that will allow dogs. I was really surprise how many rentals will allow dogs(good!!)

Airhead -- I told DH my dream was to retire to Maine in the summer and Orlando in the winter. It surely is a beautiful state, although I've never been there in the winter.
