Just got back today from our trip. We were at DLR from Wed to Wed (June 24th to July 1st). The first Wed through Friday was very crowded I believe because the S. CA APs were getting their last fling before being blocked out. We were blocked out on Sat so don't know how crowds were that day. Sunday was the best, least crowded day all week. Mon, Tues, and Wed got a little more crowded, but not as bad as the week before. Next year, we will go at the end of July, I think. So, we ended up with 5 full days and a half day at each end of the trip.

Even with all those crowds to begin with, we never waited longer than 15- 20 min for a ride due to excellent use of FPs. We zig zagged all over the parks but got on a lot rides. The exception was TSMM on the first 3 days. We waited 47 min and that was when the line had gone down. The next week were were able to get on in less than 30 min. We had Ridemax schedules with us but didn't follow them exactly. Mostly, because the rides we were supposed to go on were down.

Space was down A LOT! We even got stuck on it and they turned the lights on. Guess what? There is no "space" in there! :lmao: Yep, got pics! The last days we gave up on it because we were tired of wasting time in line for a ride that kept shutting down- after they took our FPs.

Got stuck on IJ and had to walk off, but only from the first room with the idol. So didn't get to see too much but got pics there too. After that, we only ever went through the middle door so I think that was where the ride broke. Our car was the only ones to walk off.

Toad and TSMM and DL RR was also shut down at times.

Embassy Suites South was awesome and so was Steakhouse 55. :thumbsup2

On DH's birthday we went to DL first for the morning prime time, then around 10am went over to DCA Guest Relations and walked right up to the counter with no waiting to pick up his birthday fun card. We already picked up his birthday pin when we got our anniversary pins at City Hall our first night there.

We didn't get to see the fireworks or F! because we were so tired by around 8:30pm everyday that we just left. We did see the Electrical Parade though. And loved the Pixar Play parade. Didn't care for the celebrate parade at DL. With it running twice a day we felt like it was always clogging up the paths with ropes and people and it just kept getting in the way of where we wanted to go.

Boy am I tired, but I'm going to miss not going to DLR until next summer!

Oh yippee pics of rides :cool1:will you post them later? I never have my camera ready :( when that has happened. But I have never seen SM with the lights on how fun :)

Sounds like a great vacation!! I want to see the pics of Space with the lights on!!

Do you mind if I ask how much you paid for Embassy Suites south? Did you go through priceline or anything?

Sounds like fun. Did you see me? I was sporting an LGMH last Thursday and Friday. Me and my friends were sporting pirate hats from HoJos and saying "Avast" to random people.

About rides breaking down, OMG it was so frustrating when we were there! Space, Indy, Screamin, Big Thunder, and TSMM were all broken down so much!!! We were just about to ride Space when all of the lights came on (like we were about to board), but they gave us these special passes to use on any ride except TSMM.

I looked for you but didn't see ANY LGMHs at all!!! I must not be looking in the right places. LOL I'm glad you guys had fun, wish we'd been able to bump into each other!

Glad you guys got home okay! And thanks for letting us hang out with you during your vacation last monday. :goodvibes That was fun!

Did you get stuck on SM on the 24th? We were there on the 24th and in line for SM right about to get on, when .... the lights went on. They fixed the ride, and there was lots and lots of cheering woo hooo!! cant wait to see your pics:wizard:

I will post pics when I get them ready, hopefully soon.

I looked and looked for LGMH and didn't see any (except my sister's! ):sad1:

We paid $151 a night with a AAA discount. We wanted to stay there because we knew it would be nice for our anniversary and didn't want to risk getting a different place. I will write up a little review of the hotel with pics.

We got there at 5pm on the 24th and stayed mostly in DCA that night except to get parking added to the AP and to get our pins. Thursday morning, Space was down first thing.

Welcome back! And happy anniversary :)

It sounds like you had an awesome vacation. I have not received my chocolate caramel apple yet though. ;)

I know! How dare they screw up my FP schedule! ;)

About the LGMHs....My parents were like "Wow, there are so many on the ground!" It turns out that they mistook the confetti from CaSP! :lmao:

welcome home!! I can not wait for pictures, and god forbid the foodie ones :lmao: Im hungry ! So glad you had a great time :)

Oh, I have it here. In my suitcase it stuck to my left shoe and a map of Disneyland. Still want it? :rotfl2:

Here is a Hidden Mickey I painted on my finger nail. :)

That is cute nail art. I like the color of the polish too, and your nails look very nice.
My nails are so short, that I have to rent long nails from someone. ;)

Thanks, I couldn't find my very tiny brush so it ended up blobier than I wanted. If I really had time, I should used three little "gems". In high school I used to paint all kinds of pics on my nails but now I don't have the time.

Well it still looked very cute. And again, I do not have the nails, you are fortunate to have nice nails. My nails are so sad, that I was thinking of starting a fund raiser for them. :rotfl:

Sounds like you all had a good time. We were there a week or so before you and encountered several rides going down. Including Space. We were given a "get on any ride FP whether they have FP or not" (except TSMM) pass for the day it went down but we were leaving the park pretty soon so they CM wrote the slip for the next day.

We did IJ only once and went through the door to the far left when the ride starts. The boys asked if the other two doors went into the ride as well - I didn't think so but your mention of the middle door makes me wonder if the ride does go through the other doors... unless I'm not understanding what you're mentioning.

Anyway, love the nail art.

and what is LGMH? --- never mind - I just figured it out - Light Green Mickey Head.

And oh yeah - that's an awesome tip about going to DCA's guest services for the birthday fun card!

One of the times we were in line for Space and it closed, we heard other people ask for something because they used their FPs. The CMs said they couldn't do anything, they had to clear the building and to go to City Hall. That time even some sort of alarm went off, which got me worried. They had the entire line exit through one of the exits. But when we got out to the main exit of the ride by the bathrooms that area was not being cleared, so I don't know what that was.

Another time they said we could wait in line or use one of the exits. DH tried a door marked EXIT in the hall way there and it wouldn't open. That doesn't seem good in an emergency. So we had to walk all the way back through people still standing in line who didn't know the ride shut down.

Now on IJ, when we got stuck we had gone through the left door. After that, we always went through the middle door. It really takes you to the same place but they highlight a different aspect of the room depending on what door you took. Like the middle door was "riches" so it lit up the sides of the room that shows the gold. The gold is still there when you go through, but not always lit up. I have heard that part of the ride often has trouble.

I think Space and IJ both need some down time for some major fixing up. :sad2:

LGMH actually stands for Lime green, but same idea. :)
