Just got back today from our trip. We were at DLR from Wed to Wed (June 24th to July 1st). The first Wed through Friday was very crowded I believe because the S. CA APs were getting their last fling before being blocked out. We were blocked out on Sat so don't know how crowds were that day. Sunday was the best, least crowded day all week. Mon, Tues, and Wed got a little more crowded, but not as bad as the week before. Next year, we will go at the end of July, I think. So, we ended up with 5 full days and a half day at each end of the trip.
Even with all those crowds to begin with, we never waited longer than 15- 20 min for a ride due to excellent use of FPs. We zig zagged all over the parks but got on a lot rides. The exception was TSMM on the first 3 days. We waited 47 min and that was when the line had gone down. The next week were were able to get on in less than 30 min. We had Ridemax schedules with us but didn't follow them exactly. Mostly, because the rides we were supposed to go on were down.
Space was down A LOT! We even got stuck on it and they turned the lights on. Guess what? There is no "space" in there!
Yep, got pics! The last days we gave up on it because we were tired of wasting time in line for a ride that kept shutting down- after they took our FPs.
Got stuck on IJ and had to walk off, but only from the first room with the idol. So didn't get to see too much but got pics there too. After that, we only ever went through the middle door so I think that was where the ride broke. Our car was the only ones to walk off.
Toad and TSMM and DL RR was also shut down at times.
Embassy Suites South was awesome and so was Steakhouse 55.
On DH's birthday we went to DL first for the morning prime time, then around 10am went over to DCA Guest Relations and walked right up to the counter with no waiting to pick up his birthday fun card. We already picked up his birthday pin when we got our anniversary pins at City Hall our first night there.
We didn't get to see the fireworks or F! because we were so tired by around 8:30pm everyday that we just left. We did see the Electrical Parade though. And loved the Pixar Play parade. Didn't care for the celebrate parade at DL. With it running twice a day we felt like it was always clogging up the paths with ropes and people and it just kept getting in the way of where we wanted to go.
Boy am I tired, but I'm going to miss not going to DLR until next summer!
