Well I can't believe it's over. We landed at gatwick this morning :(

It was a great trip overall with just a few pain points. I was very impressed with the hotels ability to accommodate veggies (pofq) and they offered many off menu items for me. The hotel was perfect for us. Small and offering some great activities for the girls (they especially loved toasting marshmallows over the campfire at night) we would not hesitate to go back. I loved that everything was walkable and there was just one bus stop.

Many cms went out of their way to make the trip memorable.

The weather as HOT and only had one day of rain which was a big bonus.

The pain points were focused in mk. Be our guest was a huge disappointment. They would only offer me one vegetarian dish which was quinoa and vegetables. Not filling or tasty at all. Also all desserts contain gelatin so they would only offer fruit. The chef would not offer to customise anything. The restaurant itself was beautiful and it was great meeting beast but we won't be back. I also had an issue with a cm on btmrr. My 4 yo scratched her leg in use queue and was upset so I was carrying her. The cm insisted I was not allowed to carry her through the queue and she had to walk herself. I of course refused saying it was ridiculous and she was my child so if I want to carry her I will do so. He then pulled us over to the side and proceeded to shout at me and hold me back 5 minutes. I did complain and to be fair he was the only poor cm we encountered.

How do I upload a photo to show the Olaf magic shot? The photopass was a great help. Travelling with children as a solo parent is hard so it takes the burden off worrying about getting good shots of you all together.

Welcome back, sounds like a great trip.

Sorry that BOG were unable to cater specifically to suit your dietary needs, I can only assume it might be a combination of lack of ingredients and the sheer number of people they are feeding at night. Did you note your special dietary requirements on your ADR? I wonder whether they may have been able to accommodate with some prior warning or whether they were just not willing to go out of their way :confused3

Sounds like a frustrating experience with BTMRR, however I can understand why the CM didn't want you carrying your daughter. I suppose he figured you could wait until she was up to walking herself, the queuing area and walkways on the ride are quite uneven so I can imagine they considered ti to be a H&S/trip hazard and were really only concerned for your/her safety, even if he didn't necessarily express it in the right way.

If you want to share photos, you need to upload them to a file sharing site, such as Photobucket or Flickr, then post the link here and we should be able to see the picture. Love the sound of an Olaf picture :thumbsup2

Your trip sounds great, it's a shame that they don't offer more options at Bog!
I also agree that I'd have been a little annoyed at not being able to carry my child, children often want to be picked up at that age,and get tired I always see many parents carrying their children and infants,I personally don't understand the big deal unless its on a moving walkway!

I hope we get good weather when we go in 2wks I'm so excited and.strangely it seems to be flying by!

welcome back!!

glad to hear you had mostly a great time!!

that's crazy about BTMRR - i would think that his behavior must have upset your daughter even more!! i would have complained too!!

as for BOG - i LOVED that dish (i'm veggie too)...
i thought i'd died and gone to heaven over that ratatouille quinoa dish....yummm!!!
But you're right that it's pretty small. Much smaller than the servings at other Disney TS restaurants. but i LOVED LOVED LOVED LOVED LOVED that dish!!!!!
my mouth is watering now just thinking about it.

BOG seems to be the one that will do the least in terms of alternatives.

DH just had the salad trio there. DD had both the salad trio and the salmon - which she said was the best salmon she had anywhere on property.
DSIL also had the salmon (he also loved it).

And i had the quinoa ratatouille.

when we were there, the only desserts were various cupcakes that they brought over in a cart. Only DSIL and DH had dessert.

Sounds like a great holiday. I also love POFQ and POR. Both resorts suit us more then any other on property.

I am however a bit concerned about our BOG booking now. Both DH and I are vegetarian also (he also doesn't LIKE cheese:confused3). I looked at the menu and though 'ok not much choice' but booked it anyway. So NONE of the desserts are vege?! I think I am going to cancel it.:(

Glad you had a good trip :thumbsup2

On the BTMRR incident it can understand why he wanted your daughter to walk - it's the only way they can judge her height. The way he handled it was wrong but he has a job to do that involves safety :thumbsup2

As for BoG - they have the most limited dessert menu of any restaurant on property and the fact it is a CS at lunch and TS at dinner I believe the desserts are made elsewhere and shipped in as they are the same all day. I would say the kitchen doesn't have the ingredients or facilities to offer anything else. BoG is somewhere we won't be returning to in a hurry either as I found every expensive for average food.

Queen disney - if beauty and the beast means a lot to you I would still so it and order the french onion soup only. It is veggie but as we were on the dining plan we had to order an entrée. The decor is wonderful and meeting beast was great.

re btmrr....the manager we spoke to said we can of course carry our children and the cm was wrong. It was not to check her height as I measured her at each point requested (she is 116cm). He said she had to walk the entire queue herself. He was intimidating and unnecessary. We did not experience this anywhere else.

Counting down to 14th May!

Great pictures. If you click on the IMG link next to each photo, it will come up yellow and say 'copied', then you can paste the link in to your post like this:

And the picture will appear in the post.

Glad you had a good trip. I agree POFQ is a great resort, it was our favourite when the children were little as it's so compact. Shame they were less helpful at BoG. I have to say I had the opposite experience there this week. I asked for medium well lamb as I know chefs cook all meat on the rarer side and when it came out I am not kidding you it was raw all but bleeding. I sent it back. The chef came out, asked how I wanted it, re cooked it and brought it back out herself. The second one was perfect.

Welcome back! It sounds like you had an awesome time. Your girls are utterly adorable!

We are also big POFQ fans and found them to be very accommodating, without exception, over the years we have been staying there. DD and I have ordered our fair share of breakfast Bounty Platters to share, the request being no bacon, no egg and no sausage :rotfl: Nobody has ever batted and eyelid and we have been accommodated with servings of fruit/waffles/pancakes and extra potatoes.

How many photos did you end up with on your photopass account? The ones you have shared are super!
