We made our first trip to BWV last week, 9/16-9/21. All I can say is......awesome! We love the laid back quiet of SSR, but we were so happy at the BWV.
We landed at MCO about 9:40 on Sat. and took ME (great, great, GREAT) to the BW. Check in was fast and friendly. They told us that the room we were assigned was not ready, but there was another room ready and the girl kept saying it had a great view. Would we take it? SURE we will!!!
We were on the 5th floor, above the Wyland Gallery, overlooking the Village Green, the Inn side, and half the Boardwalk. We could see the Epcot ball and the high Illuminations fireworks. The view was incredible!! When we went into the room, it had not been cleaned, but I called housekeeping, the manager apologized about 900 times and asked if we wanted to move. Ummmmm NO. I told her we were heading to Epcot for lunch, so just to please send someone over. There was a knock at the door before I hung up with her.
The staff at BWV was wonderful. In fact, the CMs on this trip were probably the best we have ever encountered. I spent a lot of time chatting and the CMs were nuts about Johnnie....he brought home a buttload of stickers and some pins. At one point at MK, we had 4 CMs with their lanyards out, trying to get him to pick a pin.
I went to Welcome Home Wednesdays on the 20th, and it was great fun. I answered a question and won a nice keychain and ended up being picked at the end for one of the big DVC golf umbrellas. Everyone received a hat. The lady who was there from the Disney Florist was very nice and I think I am going to order a DVC basket for DH on our trip home in February.
I am going to try (emphasis on TRY) to bang out a full trip report this time on the TR boards.
We are staying at SSR in February and going to try for the BCV for our trip next September, but DH and I agreed, once we have the opportunity to come down alone or with just one of the kids again, we would be thrilled to stay at the BW again. Add-on-itis. I feel it starting!!
This was our first DVC trip and sometimes I wondered if all the CMs knew...like it was tattoed on our foreheads. Because we have always had great experiences, but like I said, the CMs this time were just amazing. And the manager of the BWV was great too. Always in the lobby, saying hello. The whole trip just made me feel even better about my decision to buy in and our decision to add on in the next year.
I am working on a letter to WDW to commend all the CMs that made everything great for us. It will be a LONG letter!
