I am so sad to be home from vacation. We did the land and sea vacation and my whole family (husband and 5 and 7 year old boy and girl) agreed the cruise was the best and next time we would do a 7 day and skip Disney World. The weather was fabulous and we had a great time! I know several people had questions that I can now answer. They have started having a goofy pajama party on the Wonder (but Goofy never showed up for some reason!), which the kids enjoyed. They even got to color pillow cases. No lobster was served, but several scallop, shrimp, salmon and other fish options were available. The pirate party was fun, but we skipped the buffet because that did not start until the end of the pirate party and 10:45 at night was too late for my kids! We didn't need the extra calories anyway! The dolphin encounter at Nassau was worth the money, especially for younger kids. My daughter loved it! We had the first sitting for dinner, which was a bit of a rush some nights, but worked out ok. We loved the shows on the cruise - ranking them in order of favorites was 1) Dreams, 2) Golden Mickeys and 3) Hercules. I was impressed with the singing and talent in all three shows! Our 7 year old liked the kids club, but the 5 year old was not as excited about it and preferred to play in the Mickey Pool - so, we did not get as much adult free time as we had hoped, but that was ok. Character lines were a bit long at times and DD loves to get character autographs and pics... so we spent a fair amount of time in line! The food was decent overall - we especially enjoyed Tritons food. Animators was also a neat experience, but that was also probably our least favorite food night (but was ok). We skipped Palos since we only had 4 nights and did not know our dining rotation until we were on the ship. Check in and check out of the ship went very smoothly. Spent a lot of money at Shutters - but they take such great pictures we could not help it. We had a category 9 room (2632) and were happy with it overall. It had a huge porthole window, which the kids loved looking out of. The room was small - but we did not spend much time in it. It was noisy the morning we made it back to Port Canaveral (loading/unloading stuff), but otherwise was not too bad. (and I was nervous about the noise). The pools on the Wonder are way to small for the amount of people. I am so curious about the new ships and hope they have bigger pools! Castaway Cay was fabulous!!!! Miami Vices were my favorite drink (1/2 pina colada, 1/2 strawberry daquari)!

I guess that is all I can think of for now! We would definitely cruise again and with Disney, depending on price and locations. Ah, I miss the 75-80 degree temps and sun!

Glad you had a great time....DCL can easily become addictive!!! We have cruised DCL 16 times already with number 17 already booked!!!

Unfortunately in the cruise industry most all ship cabins are on the small side but DCL's are actually 25% larger than most other lines (at least they did whey they were first built).

Glad you had a great time.

We are looking forward to our first cruise ever, we are going on disney wonder for a 4 night. In September.

Really excited and have loads of questions.

Glad you had a nice time...

The comment about the size of the room is accurate. I know on some of the bigger/newer ships the staterooms w/ windows are about the same size as DCL, but on some of the older ships they are A LOT smaller...DH and I went on a Royal Caribbean cruise last year (last minute) and there was barely enough room for he and I (it was an older ship). I cannot even imagine having DD & DS with us in that size.

As for us...as my signature blurb states, this the year of Disney for us...We started off with the 7-night cruise, but in order to make it more cost effective for what I wanted to do (which is have the kids SEE, really SEE Disney before they start kindergarten 9/08), I had to compromise so we switched to the 4-night cruise so we could do Disney (ended up with season passes so we'll be there A LOT in the next 12 months). So, it should be lots of fun for all of us. Less than a month at this point. Whoo hoo!

:cheer2: Hi, we were on the same cruise and also did the dolphins. we were at 2574. I thought animators food was better then the others and tritons was my least favorite. I guess everyone is different. Sorry you missed palos because I thought there food was awesome. I loved the cruise and I have to agree and everyone we were with also agrees that next time we have to do a longer cruise. Four nights is just a tease and it leaves you wanting more. I cant imagine how quick the three night must be. I was very happy with my room and thought it was nice and quiet down here on two. looking foward to my next disney cruise just have to decide when. thanks for your reports.

We're glad you had such a fun trip! We're going on the Wonder in June and can't wait.
Did you save all your navigators?:)
Is so, would you please post them? We're trying to do our planning and the navigators that are posted are several months old. We'd also love to see the schedule from Castaway Cay.
Thank you for your help.

Hi Morningglory - Wouldn't that be funny if we were in the same Dolphin Group! We were in the group to the far right of the 3 dolphin areas (if you were facing the Dolphin place from the water). Our 4 year old son did not like it because the water was so cold and the minnows - so after the first picture, he stayed on the doc!

I think I kept most of the navigators, and will see if I can get them scanned and linked in here.

Gosh - I am not out on this site as much as I was leading up to the trip, but I sure wish we were on the boat again!

Hi Kmf, I was in with the dolphins to the far right and the dolphins name was stormy. My daughter was watching from outside with my husband becasue even though she is 13 she is afraid of animals. It was fun sorry it scared your son. I cant wait to do another disney cruise. morningglory316
