Well we just returned from our first stay at the Poly. Our last two Disney vacations were spent at the GF. We were ready to try something new. Overall we had a wonderful trip! The Poly housekeeping was GREAT. They granted our requests at check-in (we had reserved MK view and asked for Tahiti, 3rd Floor). Front desk said if we weren't happy, there were 2 other rooms to choose from. We were very pleased with our room though. I called only once the first night to request for turndown service (which they did every evening). We didn't get any towel animals, but those aren't a deal breaker at all for us (truthfully, I would rather have extra towels and shampoo on hand)! They replenished all the bath necessities each day. I never had to call and request more of anything. After walking the grounds we still would have chosen Tahiti...it was private and quiet after a crazy day at the parks. The downside is you do walk a million miles to get anywhere. We knew that going into it so it wasn't a surprise (or a complaint) just a comment on getting around the resort. Lovely grounds and although we didn't have a garden view I could see many nice ones (tiki torches at night - very peaceful).

Surprisingly, next trip we will be heading back to the GF. We have stayed in both the outer lodge and main building and just prefer the overall layout of that resort. As for themes, I think both the GF and Poly are relaxing. The GF is so light and airy...the Poly is warm and inviting. I like the restaurant choices at Poly over GF. But the layout is what I think will draw us back to the GF.

Sounds like a great trip! Tahiti sounds like a great choice.

I think I am a GF girl at heart, too - actually, I know I am! We have never tried the Poly, only been there to eat. I am going to try to talk DH into staying there for one night before our cruise and then the GF for a few nights after...that way I can see which I like better without making a big committment to the Poly.

Your kids are ADORABLE by the way!

Thanks for compliment :)

After reading some nasty comments from fans on both sides I have to honestly say they are both pretty equal...I mean each one has pros and cons over the other.

I think staying there a night before your cruise is a great idea. I don't think you will be disappointed at all. It is a very nice resort.

Traci, I'm glad you guys had a good time. I can't believe how big the kids are getting.... so cute.

Tammi! Thank you :goodvibes

Looks like I'll be seeing you on the GF threads again for our next trip planning - you are always such wonderful help.

Just wondering if you checked out the garden view rooms in Tahiti? Were the views nice?
