Hello everyone, This is my first ever trip report so be kind. My DW and I returned home form 12 great days at BCV. The studio room we had on the first floor was in pretty good shape. There was some slight wear and on the carpet but all in all the room was good. It was clean and the only problem was there was not a T.V. remote and one phone call took care of it. Our room # was 169 with a view of the road and the lagoon. Not the best view but the road noise did not bother us at night. We used the DDP or deluxe dining plan and I think we came out on it OK. I will give a seperate review on that after I total up the receipts. As you may guess by by screen name I am a bit of a golf nut. My DW is a Disney nut so what better place in the world to spend some days away the Midwest and enjoy our favorite things. For general info I am 51 and my DW is 50 and this is our 7th year at Disney. We started doing this when we became empty nesters:rotfl: Ours days were spent by myself golfing in the morning DW would go to a park or downtown and then we would meet for a late lunch. Afternoons we would lounge around, go to the pool, just take it easy. Evenigs we would go out for nice supper. As for the golf. I played 9 different courses this year. The courses: Osprey Ridge, Palm, Magnolia ,Shingle Creek, Mystic Dunes, Orange Lake-Legends, Celebrations, Grand Cypress-New Course & Grand Pines. If anyone would like a review of these courses let me know I will be glad to help. All the golf courses were in good shape and all were a bit expensive but this is the premium time of the year. Also there was not any free internet as of 3/7/08

Everyone wants to know about the Mugs & glasses vs. Styrofoam & plastic. What was your experience during your stay? Did they remove the Mugs & glasses while you were there?

I know there were a couple of drinking type glasses. I think there were a couple of coffee type mugs but I did not drink any coffee this year. There were paper plates and paper bowls and plastic silverware in the cabinet above the sink.

Gee, 12 days at BCV-how wonderful! Sounds like your time at WDW is spent almost exactly like ours! DH is also a golf nut, I love the parks, so we spend our days as you do. I'd be really interested in your opiniions of the different courses you played. DH hasn't ventured to courses off-property, except the time he was lucky enough (in his words) to stay and play at Bay Hill.

What a nice long stay you had.

How was Osprey Ridge? Is the clubhouse still operating normally. And is the Sand Trap open? Was anything happening on Eagle Pines?

And welcome to the DIS!:cheer2:

It is a perfect vation for us. I would recommend Grand Cypress-New Course, I beleive it is designed like St. Andrews. Its wide open. Shingle Creek was very nice well mantained not a lot of trouble. Celebrations was also very nice, but little more demanding. I used a company called GolfPac to make my reservtions. They set up eveything and can get into some courses that a single may not be able to on there own. Also are about the same price as if you would do yourself.

We like to make our stay long enough since we drive from Illinois 17.5 hrs. Osprey ridge is my favorite Disney course. It has some great risk reward holes
and the senary is the best. The Sand Trap is still operating for a least one more year, but a attendant there told me that it will completely shut down and be turned over to Four Seasons sometime next year. Eagle Pines is just sitting there unused of what I could see of it. There keeping it mowed. Its sad to see it go, Disney has a better plan I guess

Thanks for the replies. Osprey Ridge and Eagle Pines are/were my DH's favorites too....eldest son's also I think. Too bad about EP and the Sand Trap.
