I'm so sorry that you have come back to this just before Christmas. My DH is in IT and got made redundant just after Christmas nearly 2 years ago. We didn't know what to do but it turned out to be the best thing that could have happened. He now does contract work and is currently looking for a new postition himself.

There is never a good time to be made redundant. I had this happen about four years ago. The trick is not to take it personally, I now earn four times as much and am thankful I am not still stuck in my previous job.
