So have been back 3 weeks now. We had the most wonderful holiday. We left on the day the Olympics started and stayed for 3 weeks. DH, DS who turned 12 while we were there and myself. This was our 9th trip in 7 years so we know our way around now!

Highs

Wyndham Bonnet Creek - Really is a fantastic resort. 4th time staying there. We had a 2 bedroom deluxe which is huge. Its a timeshare resort and we rent points from an owner. Its right next door to Caribbean Beach. 5 pools, 2 lazy rivers, lots of activities. Definitely going back next year. Oh and it was $130 a night. No extras.

Having a friends stay for 2 weeks - My best friend and her family stayed for 2 weeks which was great. I was a little nervous recommending the resort but they loved it as much as us. Perfect holiday companions, we did our own thing some of the time and did stuff together some of the time. Not a single cross word.

Weather - Was great. Not much rain during the day, infact, I wouldn't have minded a little more. Didn't feel quite as hot as last year which was a bonus.

Crowds at Disney - Again I was pleasantly surprised. This is our 3rd August trip and I have never really found crowds to be too much of a problem. I think knowing how to use the fast pass system is a great advantage and we were very organised.

Food - ate at some terrific places. Have been on the DP for the last couple of visits so were afraid we would miss it but we didn't. Our favourite place was Toojays which we had never been to before. We went 9 times!! My son just loved it although he did eat the same thing every time. Waffles for breakfast or hot beef brisket sandwhich for lunch and dinner.

Flight home - On one of the new planes in Premium economy. Always fly PE but were so disappointed on the way out as down stairs on old plane with rubbish entertainment. So the new plane was great and we were in the bubble.

So many other highs but I'd be here all day.

Lows

Not really a low exactly but we paid to stay at Hard Rock for one night to take advantage of the front of line access. Didn't check out of Bonnet Creek. Universal was absolutely packed and while we had a great time, the whole thing cost us about £600 for one night and 2 days in the park (including tickets). I wasn't too impressed with Hard Rock, but probably because room was so small compared to Bonnet Creek. We have only ever gone to Universal in December before when it was empty so maybe the heat and the crowds put me off a bit. However it would have been a disaster without the front of line pass, I would have given up by 10am. So I just don't think it was worth the money.

Coming home - My friends can never understand how I can go to the same place each year but even after 3 weeks we were very upset to be leaving. Could easily have stayed another couple. Will hopefully try for 4 weeks next year.

So please feel free to ask any questions.

wow!!! what a fantastic price for a 2 bedroom!!!!!

yes, no one understands about going every year and for so long..

DD told me that her husband has become one of us - as they were leaving WDW after 2 weeks there, he said, "2 weeks just isn't enough - you need at least 3 weeks, and 4 weeks would be even better!!"
he's joined the club!!

Hi guys glad u had a fab hols. Just on the longer holiday point, we just got back from 5 weeks with 3 at Disney, I would recommend the longer stay to anyone. It was so sad coming back and all we have talked about in the 10 days we have been back, is Disney.

My brother has time share at Bonnet Creek, must talk him in to letting us stay there! The rooms sound great, what other facilities are there at Bonnet Creek?

The whole resort is set around the lake. Theres a big activity centre in the main buidling. Usual resort activities, mini golf, table tennis, a Gym, an activity programme which includes things like pool parties for the kids, music by the pool, bingo etc/ Something going on everyday. As I said, 5 pools, lazy rivers, pirate ship slide and another pool with a slide. 3 pool bars serving food and drinks. There is also a new hotel on site now which also has proper sit down restaurants. Loved the hotel and the new pool.
Free parking at the resort. Rooms are great. The 2 bed has a full kitchen, utility area, 2 bathrooms, one with a jacuzzi bath and walk in shower. Big balcony.
We usually stay here or Saratoga Springs but to be honest I think we are probably done with Saratoga now the prices have increased. The rooms here are far superior so really can't justify staying onsite anymore.
Location is great.
I can honestly say having spent over 60 nights here, I have never had a problem.

Loved reading your report - thanks :)

I looked at WBC but couldn't make my mind up - are they blocks of apartments - are they well spread out? The insides looked lovely and it gets so many good reports. Have gone with a Townhome elsewhere but always like to check out other places!! :goodvibes

Glad you had a fantastic trip. Sounds like your friends will be bitten by the bug aswell.

There are 6 large blocks but when you enter them they o feel like a hotel rather than a block of flats. They are spread out around a large lake and you can walk all the way around very easily. Lots of photos online and on the Orlando Hotels thread.

It sounds like they have a holiday resort feel and it's nice to have the walk round the lake. Thanks for the reply :goodvibes

I know the feeling well
I have just done a week back at work after 26 night in Orlando and it is a struggle to get back into it.
We had 5 nights at the Hilton in Bonnet Creek and loved it
Also flew back PE in a refurb 747 in the bubble. Is the gangway wide or what!!!
Ease the pain a little and do what we did.......book for next year :lmao:

Are there any parking charges at the Wyndham?

No parking charges. I think there is at the Wyndham grand hotel. Always lots of parking available so we were always able to park right outside our tower.

Have already started looking at flights but won't know what time I can get off work for a while and flights so expensive can't take the chance in booking and then having to change. We kept meaning to wander over to the Hilton but like a lot if things just never got around to it. Too much going on at BC. Did you have the breakfast buffet there by any chance?
