He said "Will You....."

They've filled it in with:

Will you please make sure I don't crash and burn when reality slaps me in the face and I realize I have to grow up....."

...tell my secret wife and children in Brazil that we are engaged?


..Take care of me? Cause I am in big trouble with my brother because I am giving you this ring!

...bail me out of debt?

......marry me so I can get my greencard to stay in the US

...Tell my brother so I don't have to?

I do have to say, that was the strangest non-proposal ever. He really didn't say "Marry Me". You know, I think he is really strange. Sometimes I think he looks like a zombie with sunken eyes...Maybe he has a hidden drug problem.

Those quotes are TOO funny, Robin! I kept thinking what a strange bird Ian is. He seems so insecure--he couldn't even manage to say the words "marry me." Oh good grief, I think she made a HUGE mistake.

Am I the only one who sees it differently? My vote was with Matthew all the way, until I saw how she is so totally in love with Ian. Her face actually lights up when she is with him. I think he's a hunk also!

I think she had made a bad choice. She herself said that Matthew has all the qualities she is looking for in a man, everything that she has every wanted, and has gone beyond her expectations which are really high. Why, oh why would she lose this opportunity of having a family with a wonderful guy that she could have had? I hope tonight's episode will reveal more of what went on that we didn't see and of how she fells about Matthew and Ian now.

You're not the only one. Marrying someone for security when you have a passion for someone else is... well... pathetic.

It might not work out with him, but giving it a try is better than marrying someone else, being bored with him, and wondering your whole life, "what if?"

ITA I'm astounded that so many people think she should have chosen "security" over love.

I'm also amazed that so many people think that a proposal is invalid if it doesn't include the word "marry". I've seen people on other threads who've said they would refuse a man they loved based simply on the fact that he omitted a few words.

OH MY GOSH!! I do not watch the Bachelorette, but that is EXACTLY how my DH proposed to me!!!!! He did not even open the box with the ring in it. He just handed me the box and said "will you?". Before I would say yes, I made him finish the sentence!!
