Babysitting Clubs with food allergies

Has anybody used any of the babysitting clubs for children with food allergies? My kids don't have anaphylactic types of reactions so I'm not worried about there being maybe a smear on a table or anything like that. They're also very good about only eating things I've approved so I don't worry about them sneaking something when I'm not looking (they know how badly they suffer plus their obsessive compulsive tendencies stop them from trying anything they shouldn't; hey, gotta make their difficulties work for us). My concern is what will they be able to eat? They serve dinner and snacks. I know just how amazing the restaurants (both TS and CS) are, but I'm not sure about the kids' clubs. I'm thinking of the Mousketeer Club at GF so DH and I can go to a nice dinner together. My girls are 11 and 9. So, does anybody have any experience with this?

Hi and :welcome: to disABILITIES!

I would suggest contacting Disney's special diets office for more information. You can see lints to them and related in the disABILITIES FAQs, Post #3; just scroll down to diets on the list.

Interesting to get a welcome. Hmmm... I guess I'm just not that memorable (I've been posting here for a while). LOL

If I decide to book a babysitting club then I'll definitely include this on my communication with Brenda. I was just hoping that I might get some first hand accounts of how it went. Even the restaurants aren't all equal with regards to how well they handle food allergies (I no longer eat at non-Disney owned restaurants for that reason). Brenda only knows contact info and maybe some lists of specific products that can be found as certain locations and can only put me in contact with the chefs when our trip is getting close. That's just not the same as hearing experiences from others who have been there, done that. For example, she made a note for me on an ADR a couple trips ago when we ate at Chefs de France. She wasn't able to tell me though that as a non-Disney owned restaurant, they don't have the supplies on hand to prepare anything different so all my daughter could eat for dinner was a bunless burger with a dressingless salad. Yes they made sure it was safe, but they had nothing else available. Personal accounts would have saved us a lot of heartache. I wish I had known about the DIS back then. This place is so great!
