Babysitting age in FL

Ok....
So I am Canadian and we have different rules so help me out. If I want to go to dinner with friends, kids-free, for a couple of hours... Is it ok to leaving a 12 year old in the hotel with a sleeping 8 year old. We are planning a trip with my DD and DN in Oct. My Dh is staying home with out Dis Puppy...and having a boy's week.
I am breaking any FL laws leaving them for 2 hours!
All advice would ne helpful!

I hope the answer if no because I left my 12 yr old in charge while DH and I went to dinner over Christmas....We did keep in contact via Cell phone and they kids knew the rules about staying in the room...but it worked just fine for us...

She babysits for me at home so I had no problem having her babysit in WDW..
