Baby's First Haircut

DH and I want our son to have his 1st haircut at the barbershop in the MK. How do I go about making an appointment? How far out do they accept appointments? We're going in August. Baby turns one on 8/8 and we'll be in WDW 8/24-8/29 or 30. Thanks!!!!!!

They do not take appointments. You just have to wait around in the barber shop until it is your turn.

I don't believe they take appointments. We got DD's hair cut back in July, just had to wait our turn. If you time it right, the Dapper Dans will be there to entertain you while you wait.

It's true that they don't take appointments and the wait can be substantial. We got there one morning maybe 15 minute after they opened up, and the wait was 4 people long!!! Now with a one year old, not an option. I'd suggest you go first thing, or you'll wait awhile. We gave up after constantly trying and having to wait, we ended getting DS's haircut at home!!! Also, they only take cash or credit cards, no room charges.

Even if there's a wait, it's well worth it!
DS got his first haircut there last year, and Michal (pictured below with DS, Colin), did a terrific job.

Something that we thought was neat was in the Fall 2002 Disney Magazine, it featured stylists Michal and Maura. It was neat to see the same barber who cut our DS's hair in the magazine. It was a nicely done article.

Can little girls get their hair cut here too or is it just for boys? My daughter will be 11 months old when we go so I was thinking that this would be good to do. We're also hoping to be able to go to MNSSHP too. We'll be able to go on Oct. 10 and Oct. 18-21. We going on a Disney Cruise Oct. 11-18 so that week is no good.

...Michal cut our dd's first haircut last year also! He was a hoot! And, though the wait was long, it was well worth it! He didn't even charge us, so we were very generous in our tip!

Michal also cut our DD's hair and she got lots of pixie dust, stickers and even ponytail holders that have ears on them.
