I just had a baby on 9/15. So through all ofthe sleepless nights and crying I still can plan disney vacations. I just made my reservations for next September at BWV and I realized it will be my sons 1st Birthday week. So what would you plan to celebrate such a wonderful day! :Pinkbounc Thanks for any info! :dance3:

No advice on what to do except enjoy yourself / selves.

Congrats on the new family member, best of wishes to all of you. :thumbsup2

While typing I thought of the character meals. With the new one only a year old by that time, you may get more out of than the baby, but it will still be a great memory to hold onto. Just take videos.

Just think of the added joy of showing his first girlfriend those vid's, truely priceles. :rotfl:

Congrats on the baby. My DW is due to give birth on Monday (outr first). It will be a c-section since the baby is already being stubborn and decided he/she didn't want to turn, lol.

Make sure to get the "It's My Birthday" sticker and for that age I would guess a nice character meal so that there can me a lot of character interaction between them and your son.

Just a hearty congratulations to you, and wishing you a wonderful stay!

For our littlest grandchild who was 1 1/2 when we went in August, It's a Small World, swimming in the pool with floaties and playing in the kiddies pool with water toys were the highlights.

Bobbi :)

Depending on your baby's hair, it might also be fun to get his first haircut at the barber on Main Street. We did that with my son and he got a really cute set of Mickey Ears with "My First Haircut" embroidered on them as well as a certificate. It was really cute.

Congrats! Just had my son on 10/6....already planning his first trip in July (unless I can convince DH to go earlier!).

Congrats on your new addition, and what a fine day for his arrival! :thumbsup2 I celebrated my 30"something" b-day on that very day! I've taken my kids as at young as 3 months, 9 months, and 15 months. Those were definitely the easiest trips!!!

My advice is take 1/2 of what you think you might need into the park. It's a pain to lug around, even in the stroller, and in a real emergency, you can buy whatever you need in the park, or go back to your room! My bags have gotten progressively lighter over the years as I realized I never used 90% of what I pack!

Kim (really jacksmom99, not gmboy95...that's DH :teeth: )

We celebrated my daughter's 1st birthday at Chef Mickeys. All the characters made a big fuss as they visited the table. Everyone sang and waved their napkins. She was too young to remember it, but we have some great photos and video.

The following year we had her birthday celebration at the Crystal Palace. The parade around the restaurant was a big hit.

Well congrats!!! Its a great day ( my bday also -happy birthday Kim :bday: ), my only advice would be to expose your baby to characters before you go (Chuck e cheese or six flags) to see how he reacts. Some kids love them some are terrified. If he loves them then book a character meal. My kids experienced DIsney at early ages (2 at 4m and 9m). Those were their first trips , but many many trips later we have alot of treasured memories!!! Have a great trip!

Congrats!! Enjoy your baby as mine are now 6 and 9 and I don't remember how the time flew!!
I agree with isyt, take your precious little one to meet different characters as my first DD9 was terrified of any charcacters including Hallowee costumed people until she was three and DD6 loved the characters right away from age 6 mos and up!!
I would order one of thier beautiful cakes for a first b-day!!
(Search on the food thread for pics).
Happy Birthday little DISSER!

Thanks for all of the congrats. I do not want time to go to fast. He is so little and precious. He will be visiting disney the first time in December. I know some people think it is crazy to go with a 3 month old but he has a sister (3 years old) so we are going. Disney is a family place and we love to spend time as a family there. :sunny: I will use all of your suggestions for my obsessive disney planning for next September! Thanks!
