Okay, while Paxton (and DH! lol) are sleeping, time to wrap this thing up, right? It's about time to start my PTR for our next trip already!!
After taking some Photopass pictures in front of the hat, my tummy was starting to grumble and I was still feeling worn down from the heat, so we decided to start looking for a place to eat lunch. Since it was just before 11 am, we decided to see if we could get a walk-up spot at Sci-Fi so we could have a more laid back lunch instead of just grabbing CS. Luckily, they were able to take us right away!
Since there were only 2 of us, we got seated in the backseat of a car with another family in the seats in front of us. It was SO cold in there, I actually started shivering by the middle of the meal, but it was a relief to be out of the sun for awhile. DH got the bacon burger, and I got just a regular burger. Nothing special, but definitely filled the hole. Another plus to having an early seating time was that our food came out pretty quickly. I had really wanted to try one of the desserts, but we both got full on our meals so we skipped dessert. Maybe next time.
Watching the silly movie trailers while we ate
After lunch, we headed over to my second favorite 3D show in WDW (first is PhilharMagic!), Muppets 3D! I never get tired of this movie. I have always loved the Muppets.
After the show, we decided to head over to the Animation building to do an animation class. We really loved those on our December trip, so we were hoping to get into a few this time.
We never did ride the Great Movie Ride this trip, but I made DH take a picture of the theater as we walked anyway.
Our first animation class was kind of a bust. First, we got into the room last, so we had to sit up in the front row with the lap boards instead of at the tables. Then, the animator took a vote on who to draw, and I was really hoping to draw Minnie Mouse, but the group voted for Carl from
Up, which neither me or DH were too excited about, but oh well. The worst was the awkward animator who kept giggling at everything!! And she wasn't the best at explaining what she was doing. Our drawings didn't turn out too bad, though.
We thought about skipping the next class because we figured it'd be the same CM doing the class, but then we saw her switch out with an animator we had really enjoyed last year, so we decided to stick around. Unfortunately, he had us drawing Tinkerbell!! That was definitely the hardest one I've ever done!!
We took a break from animation for awhile to do some other things, first of which was using a set of our TSM fastpasses!
I'll never beat DH at that game!!
I really wanted to do Voyage of the Little Mermaid, but DH was really eager to skip it. So we decided to go ahead and split up for a minute so that I could sit and relax during the show (one of my favorites!) and DH could head over to RNRC and ride through the single rider line.
I made friends with a group of little girls on some kind of camp trip, who were just hysterical and adorable. They all got to "announce" the show before the doors opened.
After DH and I met up, we decided we had time for just one more animation class before we needed to leave the park for church. This time, we drew Tigger, which was much easier and more enjoyable than our morning classes had been!
By then, it was around 4 pm, so we headed out of the park and back to Cypress Palms to freshen up and change clothes for church. While we were at the resort changing, it started STORMING outside! We were pretty happy to be out of the rain at that point.
We went to mass at the Mary Queen of the Universe Shrine for 6 pm, and it was still lightly raining when we got out at 7 pm. But since the rain had cooled everything down somewhat, we didn't feel like I needed to go back and change back into a tanktop, so we decided to take our chances and head straight back to the park. It was barely drizzling by the time we got there. Perfect timing!
The first thing we did was grab some pizza for dinner at Pizza Planet. Then we decided to use our very last set of TSM fastpasses for our last ride. It's a good thing DH had all that luck at rope drop, so that we could ride 3 times!
We decided to go to just one more animation class (can you tell we love them?!), and it was the best one yet. To set it up, there were a lot of kids in the class, and our animator made sure to stress that everyone's drawing would be unique and special, etc. We found out we were drawing Pluto, which we had never drawn before, and he seemed pretty easy. About halfway through the class, the animator stops and says she hears some sniffling. One of the kids in the class is crying, and when she said something, he wailed, "I'm just not good at this!!" After some reassurance from his parents and the animator, we finished drawing Pluto, and the CM asked it anyone wanted to share their pictures with the class because we still had a few minutes left before the doors would open. Well, the same kid holds his hand up, and when she goes to take it from him, he says all casually, "I messed up a little." LMAO! Then when the CM said what a great job he had done, he shrugged and said, "Yours is pretty good too." Priceless!! I think this same kid had tried to get a CM to intervene when his brother was annoying him while waiting for the class to start. Too funny!
I have these random pictures of us at the umbrella, not sure when we took them? lol
DH wanted to ride Tower of Terror at least once, and he had a FP from earlier that day, so we decided that would be our last thing before we left.
I got some chocolate ice cream to sit and eat while he rode, and I waited for him at the exit of the ride. Not too bad since it is inside a nice lobby with seating! Perfect place to enjoy my dessert while waiting. I was pretty jealous when he told me about the Summer Nightastic special effects that had been added, but I'll just have to live with his description of it.
By the time he finished riding, it was about 10 pm when the park was closing anyway. We headed out to the car and back for our last night at Cypress Palms.
