I am going in December '10 :cool1: and I am bringing my DDs, age 5 and 2. Last time we went, we just had one girl who was 2 at the time. We used the park strollers, which had to be returned before we left the park each day. I could handle one sleeping princess while waiting in line for the buses, but I anticipate both could be a handful after a long day at the parks. I was thinking of picking this up (or renting from one of the stroller rental places). My 5 year old would like standing on the back of the stroller and dad's shoulders would like not carrying her around for 7 days. Anyone have any experiences (good or bad) they could share?
Thanks!

We LOVE our sit n' stand. It is the greatest invention ever. We took it with us to disney world last march, and will be taking again This march when we go back for a week.

It holds up really well, and it great to have a place for an older child to sit. We got a lot of envious looks from other people who were giving piggy back rides to four or five year olds.

There are a lot of people that bring this stroller to Disney though so make sure you tie something on it to make it easily identifiable.

The only con of course, is that it is kind of big, but we never had any trouble folding it up and holding it on buses or trams etc..plus it's nice on the monorails because even when it's very crowded your older child has a safe place to sit and you don't have to worry about keeping tabs on them in huge crowds, like after the fireworks at MK.

I love ours. We did WDW with our 2 yr DS and 6 mo old DD with it. Now that they're bigger, our youngest sits in front and our oldest perches on the back. Great for storage space too.

They can be cumbersome on the busses and trams if you load up the stroller ahead of time. Keep everything out of the under carriage and it folds right up, and actually fold up smaller when the back seat is out.

I've never found it hard to maneuver - we were at WDW at peak Easter week and didn't run over 1 foot! We were able to get around with little problem.

I'm going to invest in either a Vera Bradley Miller or Carry-All bag to minimize all the extra junk we take to the park - with any luck, we'll be going with just a few pull-ups and wipes vs. tons of diapers. Our rain gear consists of plastic fabric and it tucks into the stroller.

Have fun!

wow I hated mine. It was ok for a 2yr old and 6 month old but by the times they were 3 and 5 it was sooo hard to steer and push. It also kinda large to take on the busses if you are bussing. We brought ours to Disney once.....oh I hated that thing. Very hard to push did I mention that lol. The last time we went in Sept we bought and brought to maclaren volo's I am in love:lovestruc I wish I would have found that stroller while my kids were young.

We have two adults so we found bringing two SMALL stollers much much easier. I was worried I may need a double so I brought stroller clips so I could clip them together if needed. I only used the clips in the airport so dh could take car of all the luggage:scared1:

just my 2 cents

I also hate my sit & stand. Would never even think of taking that thing to Disney!! Soooo hard to push!
The past 2 times, we have taken 2 nicer umbrella strollers. They worked out great!!

Thanks for the feedback. I am still up in the air, but I appreciate your opinions!

I took one last year when my dd was 2 and ds was 6. My kids are on the smaller side, I think ds weighed about 45 pounds. I didn't have any problem pushing it. It was a lifesaver for us! My 9 y/o sat in it a lot, too, just to have a place to sit, but there is no way I could have pushed him!

It is a monstrosity on the trams to and from the parks (we drove). But that is a small price to pay to have a nice seat for an older kid when needed.

We looove ours!! We bought it in Jan '08 just for our WDW trip, and we were soo glad we did!! At that time, the kids were 9, 7, 5 and 2. The 2 yr old was in the seat, and the other 3 took turns sitting. The only issue we had with it was the kids fighting over whose turn it was to ride.

This has been our experience with our sit n stand as well. It worked great for my kiddos when they were 17 months and 6, and we used it again last year when they were 2 1/2 and 7, but we won't be bringing it back this year. The 8 year old is going to have to tough it out:rotfl:

The only down side's for us, was the seat in the front doesn't recline very far, but my dd was still able to sleep in it. I honestly don't think it takes up much more space then a regular single full size stroller when it's folded, but it is heavier. It would always take 2 hands for me to lug it on and off the bus, but that was really it.

I have another question for those who've used this stroller. We have one and have really enjoyed using it for shopping trips, etc. Our youngest is 4 months old now and we have been using it with her infant carrier. She will be 7 1/2 months old when we go to WDW and I was wondering what your experiences were with a LO this age. Someone said they used it with a 6 month old. Did she sit up OK up front?? I was hoping she wouldn't wobble around too much up front.

Thanks.

We have a sit and stand, but it's the one that two kids can be sitting or you can take the 2nd seat out and then it's just a bench.

We used to like it but now that our older two are 5 and 3 and both almost 50 pounds it is nearly impossible to turn it. So I would say it depends on the size of your children. (If we try to put our 14 month old in the stroller instead of our 5 year old DD, the 5 year old gets so upset that she has to walk!!)

We actually kept her in the back seat for our trip when she was 6 months since it had a little more room for her to recline and lean if needed. She did great. We put our oldest upfront so he could pop in and out quickly for character greets. Since you can unhook the shoulder strap part and just use it as a lap belt, that's what we did. (We didn't put on the cup holder or foot rest either)

Putting DD in the back seat allowed for us to really block out the sun and elements with the canopies. With the back one and the front one it kept her nicely covered for naps and when it rained.

We have a Sit-N-Stand stroller and my girls are the exact same age as yours. We took the Sit-N-Stand last May on our trip to WDW and will not be bringing it with us this May. It was great until later in the evenings. My older DD who sat on the seat would be dozing off but had nowhere to laydown. She almost fell out of the stroller several times. My DH ended up having to carry her back to the Poly and he was absolutely worn out by the time we got back. So this year we are renting a double stroller from Orlando Stroller Rentals. I actually had a BIG discussion on my PTR about this--check out the link in my siggy if you want more specifics!! :goodvibes
