baby threw up and pooped in Coral reef! We still had fun!

Hi! I'm jumping in! I love TRs that include little ones!! So great to hear that Disney magic is alive and well and looks out for the kiddos! :thumbsup2 Although that REALLY bothers me that people made you stand with a baby on a bus! :headache: This next trip will be our first using the buses and I'm really nervous about it!

Not able to post an update just yet. I typed it out one night but lost it somehow! Life update....
Monday night we are sitting and watching TV at 10pm. I smell burning smell in basement and go down to see. My DH comes down and we discover it is the dryer vent, no worries it was ok, just needed cleaning out. While standing there he hears something and runs upstairs and outside and brings in 2 kittens that were in our basement window well!! It was cold and rainy out, so we brought them in to warm up. SO>>>>now we have a cat, dog, rabbit and 2 kittens. They are 3 weeks old and boys, cute but not staying!
I called a shelter and was told they are all overwhelmed. They said bring them in but most likely will be put down :( I have been able to find homes for both now on my own. I have them for 2 more weeks and then they will go to new homes when off being bottle fed. (OK Ali I know you are reading this going oh how cute I want them!):lmao:

Aww! Thanks for doing your part for them! I did not know you had a rabbit! We have eight! It's a lot of work (and a lot of poop!) but I love them all and wouldn't trade them for the world! :cloud9:

I'm a cat lover and so happy that you were able to find homes for the two kittens. I just lost one of my furbabies this week. :sad1:

Sorry to hear about your baby! We lost one of ours in June. :sad1:

There is no way I am missing out on a TR with that kind of title :lmao:

You are off to a great start and have a beautiful family. I keep trying to convince my parents to come with us on one of our trips but so far they aren't biting.

Welcome! I was so happy they decided to come. They said no at first and then when I sat down and went over the prices and promised free dining would come they agreed! Then I had a few months of sweating waiting for the free dining to come!:lmao:

Ok here we go for Epcot and Ohana!!
Since we did MNSSHP the night before we decided not be up for rope drop. We got up about 8am, when the kids woke up. Once the baby is awake then so is EVERYONE!:lmao: He was banging on the joining door to my parents as well. Just as I am ready my phone rings and it is my aunt (who is caring for my cat while we are away). I answer and she begins to sob!:scared:
I thought maybe my cat ran out the door or something. NOPE her son who is 40yo was brought to the hospital that morning with suspected encephalitis, very ill. She was afraid something would happen to the cat because she needed to get to the ED. OMG do not worry about the cat just go is what I immediately said. (he is now ok, he had meningitis)
I knocked and let my parents know, then we went to breakfast, with a heavy heart.
Breakfast was mobbed at 9am, 7:30 is much better!
After breakfast we headed out to the bus stop and my parents decided to go back to the room and call my aunt. They said they would call when they got to Epcot.
We walked through the gate at 10am, and went on spaceship earth. The line was long but it was moving all the time. While on the ride we got to the top of the ball and the ride paused and stayed that way for 15mins. I actually enjoyed sitting there with the kids.:confused3
During that time my parents called and said they were at guest relations making ADR changes. My mother realized she booked similar ADR's ie. Canada, England, Raglan RD! I tried to warn her but she did not realize until now. She had no luck so she kept things the way they were.
Off we went for fastpass tickets for test track, then over to mission space.
My DS was nervous about trying it. My mother offered to go with the first group because she does not like most thrill type rides and he trusted her opinion. (not mine?).
I went with the kids to the play area at the end of the ride. Both kids played, the baby made a baby friend (his reflection:lmao:).
When everyone came out my DS decided that he would try it. My DH, DS and myself went on the tame side. Success, DS loved it.
On to Ellen's ride. After that test track FP was ready. My parents have never been on so they went first and my DS went with them. Then my DH and son (again) went. While we waited it was really hot and sunny. We found a shaded area but were still warm. My parents decided to go get a small lunch and took the baby with them, we would call when we were done.
While exiting our ride something strange happened. A CM was running and yelling "stop car number...." :confused3Weird?
We tried to call my parents but where ever they went had no cell service. While we walked towards where food would be it started to pour. We were getting very wet but my DS declared this was the best Epcot day EVER! How could you not splash around with a statement like that!:rotfl:

I tried several close places to eat but they were no where.:confused3
A few minutes later my dad called and said they were in the Soarin building at Sunshine Seasons. We headed over there and had a snack.
While there my DS wanted to go on Living with the land, he loved this last time. My mother suggested going back to the hotel and swim before our 5pm Ohana ADR.
This was a small hissy fit moment by my DH who has trouble with change! My DS then agreed that he wanted to swim as well. It was 2:30 and I said we better make a quick exit if this will work.

Off we went to head back to hotel. Just as we get to the front of the park my mother says she wants to go on spaceship earth and my DS says he wants to go with them!
My DH rolls his eyes!:rolleyes1
DH and myself take the baby back to the hotel. We changed our wet clothes and pretty much that was all the time we had. My parents got there and changed quickly, off to the bus again.

Ohana and the trip there!

One thing before I get started. I hate being late for ADR's, I hate being late ever! I also was nervous because I wanted my parents to love this trip!

Ok so we get to bus stop around 4:15pm. Long wait for the bus, 4:40 before it came! Two days in a row this happened to me! While waiting my mother began to feel the need to rush to the bathroom (she had abdominal surgery earlier this year). She told us to go and my parent would follow shortly. Of course as soon as they walk away the bus comes:eek:.
We get on and I start to worry. I do not want to be late and I am not sure they will hold the ADR while waiting for my parents!
We finally get to MK and run to the monorail. We get on and my phone rings, my mother says they are on the bus and almost to MK, there must have been another bus shortly after ours!:thumbsup2
They ened up being 2 stops behind us on the monorail!
We get to the poly and I run in to check in. The place was mobbed!
The lady at the desk gives me a pager. Just as my parents walk in it went off, perfect. As we walk to our table the hostess apologized to me as their system was down and they were using the old paper check in. I did not even notice.
032.jpg

We get our bread and sit down. The bread was a bit disappointing, no butter a little dry.
The food started quickly, wings were awesome and pot stickers good as well. Salad was OK.
Noodles and meat were great, esp with the dipping sauce. I could eat anything with the peanut dipping sauce!
Overall most of our party did not care for Ohana. My parents thought it was too loud to talk and the table was huge, I could not reach most things or hear my parents. The food was fast and my little one was crabby!
After being back for a while and thinking back, it was stressful at dinner because of the noise, baby and being late. I like the food and now think it was my favorite of the trip. I will try it again.
The noise I think is harder for those with out little kids, it is more noticeable.
It did not bother me nearly as much as my parents.
Dinner done we decided to go back to MK for the parade and fireworks.

Great day, minor stress!
Observation for the day: I am on vacation, take a deep breathe and enjoy!
Up next DHS, Epcot, Coral Reef and Rose n Crown for my parents.

sadly, this is the norm for all of the buses to and from POP. :sad2: I'm reading another DISer's TR, she also stayed at POP (over Labor Day weekend though) and dealt with the same things as you. She was telling us about holding her sleeping child, bags, and a stroller and no one offered her their seat on the bus. I thought this was common courtesy :confused3 we ALWAYS give up our seats for kids or the elderly. The buses are the main reason I will never return to Pop Century. I have never had bus complaints in 7 previous trips...even staying at ASMo. :sad2:

We were at Pop the week after Labor Day. We had to stand several times throughout the week in the am. My major complaint was how many parents let their small children (under 5 ) that were easily small enough to be held taking up the seats. When we were able to get a seat and someone holding a child my husband would get up and I would hold my 10 year old so others could sit down.

It is to bad because I like POP to stay at. We always make my 7yo sit on our laps on full buses as well. I will sit and hold both kids and my DH will stand at times on full buses. The worst ride is coming up in the next day report! Thanks for joining in!

It is not only at Pop though. We stayed 2yrs ago at ASMU and the same thing happened there.

Hmmmm....we had few bus problems at Pop the last two trips, only once waited about 15 minutes, the rest they were pretty quick. But one of the laws of Disney physics...buses are at their latest when you are trying to make an ADR. :lmao:

SkierPete

I kept telling my parents that buses do not always take as long as what they had. They kept saying if they did a next visit they would pick a moderate or deluxe resort. I did a mental head slap because they just did not understand all resorts are a distance from a park! Some may be a walk or boat ride away but you still need a bus to the rest! They liked the POP pools and theme, just not the buses.

Day 4:
We had wanted to start off the day with EMH at DHS. Up early and on our way after breakfast at POP. We had this brilliant plan when we got to DHS to go right to TSM and get fastpasses. Now it takes me forever to get through those security lines because of my diaper bag and stroller. Someone in our group suggested we give all our tickets to my DH and he can run ahead and get FP! Sounded pretty darn smart to me. Off he went and I stood in line with my parents for security. A few minutes later my DH calls my cell and says, "we got a problem, you have to have entered the park for the tickets to work at FP stations". Back he ran....Damn Disney thinks of everything! :lmao:
He meets us just outside the gate and we all enter, off he goes again to get FP! Everyone else stop to use the restroom so I covered the kids in sunscreen while waiting.
He gets back to use with fastpasses for 11:15. He now needs a drink because he has been running back and forth across the park :lmao:.
We decided to start at the Great Movie Ride. Everyone enjoyed it as usual. I thought something had changed. There used to be fire in the wild west part of the ride. Last time we were there when the fire burned my DS fell apart crying!

From there we scooted over and saw Little Mermaid and the Playhouse Disney show. Both a bit young for my older son but the baby loved both! Some small shopping at the gift shop and then onward!
We headed to the back of the park to backlot tour. Ok but once you have seen it once....My DS loved it, it was his first time seeing it. I just enjoyed sitting for a bit. It was 92 degrees and 97% humidity!
When we finished the ride it was Toy Story time, never been on it and could not wait to try it, afterall this is why we did EMH. I asked to CM for a rider switch because my son wanted to ride with both us and my parents. I was told they do not have them on this ride because it is suitable for all ages. The baby was sleeping and I explained this, she just repeated that if he wanted to ride again he needed another FP. Side Note: I thought I had read that little ones have to be able to sit in their own seat to ride? anyone?:confused3 If this is true then a rider switch would indeed be appropriate.

Anyways, my DH and DS went on the ride. I pocketed my DS FP ticket after the first person checked it, I found the second person does not usually look at it because the first already did. I felt a little bad about it but I did not feel like I was being awful:rolleyes1.
We loved the ride! Coolest yet! Aaron rode the second time with my parents while we headed over to start eating a small lunch. My parents met up with us when they were done.
I took the kids to the Honey I Shrunk the Kids play set. They both enjoyed hanging out there.
From here we headed up to ToT and RNR. Each line said 20 minutes. My DS was in a brave mood and said he would try ToT. We jumped on that before he chickened out!:rotfl2: I think he was trying to impress Grandpa because I can hardly ever get him on the teacups!
He rode and spent most of the time with his eyes tightly shut. He missed most cool effects. As we were dropping we just got to the bottom and I could see imaiges on the doors. Aaron asked how many more and I said it is ok we are done now.....as the car flew up for one last fall! Now he really won't trust me!
He decided no way was he going on RNR after that!! Good thing, he would not have liked it!
We went over to ride and my mother sat with both kids. We decided to take the single rider line since we did not have to sit together. we strolled by the people waiting and by the signs that said "your party will be seperated by the CM". We get to the loading area and the CM directs me to #12. A few seconds later says to my DH #12. Then to my dad #11! We laughed and felt quilty that we walked past those waiting and then were seated together!
Oh well, we laughed all afternoon about that.

We decided to go back to the hotel and swim! It was really hot out today!

After swimming we got ready for Epcot and dinner at Coral Reef, my parents at Rose N Crown.

Next Up the Coral Reef disaster!
Sorry I did not take pics all day, not sure what I was thinking!

On the GMR, you either get stopped in the gangster or the wild west scene (when the bad guy takes over your car). I love the wild west one...but that fire sure is hot!!!

That stinks about TSMM, but infants and toddlers can ride that one when sitting on someone's lap (seen it done a million times). It is one of our favorite rides, but I can never seem to beat my DH!!! He's just too good at it (he's great at Buzz too).

Ok we decided to head to Coral Reef for dinner, it was a smooth ride there. We headed right over to the seas. My DH checked in and I took the baby and my son to the bathroom. We came out and sat down for only a few minutes when the buzzer went off!
We were lead to the table by a hostess that really did not think things over much, she pointed out the table. I asked for a height chair and she said "oh you need a height chair? I am not sure if you can sit here then." It was a semi circle table in the second tier up from aquarium. My DH and thought YES a aquarium side table! Just than the manager said "oh I can grab a chair". (my DH told them at check in we needed it)
He came over with my favorite height chair!! I wish all restaurants had it. It clipped to the table so he sat in the booth with us and could see the fish!

We ordered dinner. Last time we were here I had steak and it blew LeCelliar away! I ordered the steak again, did not live up to the same standards. Was not terrible but had grizzle in it, and a lot of it.
The kids really enjoyed watching the fish and scuba divers.
For dessert I had the butterscotch creme brule (I know that is not right but can not figure it out!). My DH had steak and loved his. DS had mahi and enjoyed his. I think my DH had cheesecake for dessert but he ate that almost everyday on vacation so I can not remember!:lmao:
About this time the baby became restless. I was waiting for the bill so my DH said he would take the baby outside to walk. Just as he stood up and picked up the baby he says "why is my arm wet, omg". I look at him and he says "I think he pooped".
Now I am thinking so he does that all the time. As I look my DH is pointing in the height chair. I follow his finger and look......Yup poop! A large amount of it!
My DH says he will go change and clean the baby. Now the chair is a canvas type material. I was so embarrassed, I could not tell the waiter that the baby pooped in the height chair:scared:.
I reached into my bag of tricks and pulled out my handy antibacterial hand wipes. I cleaned the chair and put the "evidence" in a plastic bag. (I carried a few to dispose of stinky diapers). The whole settling the bill seemed to take forever! I sat there with the mess waiting to RUN OUT OF THE BUILDING!
I did not want to put the "evidence" with table garbage going into the kitchen, gross!
I finally settled the bill, the whole time my DS was laughing hysterically!
I finally ran out of the building, My DH was standing there with the baby in the same clothes he was wearing. When he went to change him things went really bad. The clean outfit got covered in the dirty diaper! The baby is at a stage where he is a nightmare to change! My DH is all wet as well. He said he had to wash himself off as well. We both smiled and said "well I am sure after we left they banned us from eating there again!"

Now we were off to find clothes for the baby. My parents texted they were done with dinner and finding a viewing place for illuminations.
We finally found in mouse works a pair of PJ's to put the baby in. So now in his new toys story jammies, we are off to locate my parents.
As we are walking I begin to smell something stinky, yup pooped again!
This time no blow out! We stop and change him again.
My mothers tells me she is sitting in Mexico by a tree. I walk up and down Mexico about 10 times and can not find her. I am now stressed and slightly panicked. No reason to panic but I get like this when stressed and can not find people. Finally I find her, not in Mexico, but just before at the boat launch! We watched Illuminations and had a great time!
After we headed out and back to POP, quick dip in pool and then to bed.

We decided to go separate ways in the morning and then meet up at HS for momma melrose and fantasmic package .

Hi, I just caught up with your TR!:goodvibes

I would love to to the HDDR one day & glad you had a great time.
That's awesome that your DS loved Splash Mountian!
The 1st haircut pics were too precious! I remember being so sad when Levi had his 1st haircut. It does make them look older.
Your Aunt did a great job on the Woody costumes! :thumbsup2
And, the poopy diaper! I've had that happen to us at a restaurant (maybe not as messy as yours:laughing:) and it is sooooo embarassing!

Looks like ya'll had a great trip & I can't wait to read more!

Enjoying your TR so far! We had a similar situation in WCC... althought she didn't poop on er seat! I would have handled the situation the same way!

Sorry it has taken me so long to get all caught up again! Now that we're back from our trip (2 weeks ago...:rolleyes1), I'm trying to get back on track with everyone's reports!

Back he ran....Damn Disney thinks of everything! :lmao: He meets us just outside the gate and we all enter, off he goes again to get FP!

OMG I just read on somone else's report that they had the same idea and the same thing happened to them! It's funny because our original schedule was to go to DHS and get FPs for TSMM then head over to breakfast at the Beach Club...and I know that I would have tried to make my BF go in and get them to make it faster since I always have the backpack, and he would've been turned away!

There used to be fire in the wild west part of the ride. Last time we were there when the fire burned my DS fell apart crying!

I don't think we've ever gotten the western scene...we always get the gangsters so I've never seen the fire!

It was 92 degrees and 97% humidity!

Holy cow! :scared1: I can't believe your husband ran back and forth to TSMM twice under those conditions!

Wasn't it FUN??!!! My arm starts to kill me but it's so much fun! I'm surprised about the Rider Switch...yes, it's age appropriate for everyone but come on! That's weird!

As we were dropping we just got to the bottom and I could see images on the doors. Aaron asked how many more and I said it is ok we are done now.....as the car flew up for one last fall! Now he really won't trust me!

Good for him for trying it, at least! It's funny because I like the big thrill rides but I despise the teacups!

We thought about trying this when it was just the 2 of us, but we really wanted to sit together and didn't want to take the chance of getting split up

We decided to go back to the hotel and swim! It was really hot out today!

Hooray for pool breaks! I loved relaxing in the pool...it makes me wish we had done it on every trip!

Sorry I did not take pics all day, not sure what I was thinking!

I didn't even notice there were no pics until you mentioned it!

It clipped to the table so he sat in the booth with us and could see the fish!

Wow someone wasn't paying attention! LOL At least it was easily remedied! That is so cool that they clip onto the table and fit into the booth! So much more convenient than being out in the middle of the aisle! I don't even have kids but I always felt so bad for the parents when people would keep tripping over the high chair in the walkway!

We ordered dinner. Last time we were here I had steak and it blew LeCelliar away! I ordered the steak again, did not live up to the same standards. Was not terrible but had grizzle in it, and a lot of it. The kids really enjoyed watching the fish and scuba divers. I think my DH had cheesecake for dessert but he ate that almost everyday on vacation so I can not remember!:lmao:

We really enjoyed our meal there in 2007. It was the only time we've ever eaten there but I'm thinking about trying it out again next year if my sister and her boyfriend come with us.

OMG!!!! That is so funny and so NOT, all at the same time!

You guys handled it like pros! I would have been freaking out! What a good idea to carry some plastic bags with you! I'll have to remember that for next trip! You never know when they'll come in handy!

Oh no!! Just when you thought the nightmare was over! At least you found him some cute jammies! And now whenever he wears them, you will laugh at this memory!
