Baby-switch/Switching-off - anyone done this?

Hello, everyone!

19 sleeps to go and, ridiculous though this sounds, I'm getting nervous about our trip. Previous holidays with our 4-year old DD have involved slinging a ludicrous amount of stuff in the boot of our car and tootling off on the motorway. Does anyone else get like this, or am I just irretrievably doolally??

Anyhoo, to counteract my nerves I am in full planning mode. So bear with me, as I may ask loads of questions over the coming days.....

First one. Has anyone done the baby-switch/switching-off thing? I'm wondering how it works in practice. It would be nice not to be confined to Fantasyland the whole time and try out the big-girl rides too! Would be glad to hear your experiences.

Hi! We went in September and had our 9 month old with us as well as our 7 and 8 year olds. We found baby switch invaluable. It works differently on different rides but we asked the cast member at the entrance to the ride and on some of the rides they gave us a ticket and when we wanted to swap over the 2nd person goes up the exit. On a couple of the rides they just send you down the fastpass entrance.
They even let us use baby switch to take the older children on rides, for instance DH took the older boys on Buzz and then I took them on straight after so we both got to see them on the rides. I was quite surprised as I assumed it would only be for the rollercoasters etc. hope that helps. X

We used baby switch too when we were there 2yrs ago with 3yr old & 4mth old. We just asked the cast members & they told us where to go. It was really easy and worked well for us too
