Does Universal do anything like Disney's baby swap? If we go to see the Harry Potter areas, we will need to bring our 5 month old with us, as I will be nursing. Still debating whether it's worth it to go, and whether we'd bring the 5yo and nearly 3yo as well, who are interested in Harry Potter but are too short/scared to do much in the way of rides.

Yes. Wait in line together, then tell the attendant at the front of the line. No problem.

We used child swap for Forbidden Journey this weekend and it worked great. We all waited in line together then when we got to the front they put us in a child swap lane, I loaded onto the ride and dh and dd waited in an air conditioned room until I came back then dh went right on. The room is right where you get off and they even have the movie playing in there! DD liked it so much she asked to do it again, lol! She enjoyed all the things in the queue even though she couldn't ride.

They do but it is different than at Disney. At Unviersal the whole family gets in line. You let the ride TMS know you are doing a child swap, when you get to the loading area the non-riding child and parent go into a child swap room ( it is air conditioned with seating and have videos playing. At Harry Potter the HP movies play in the waiting area). When the riding parent returns, you switch.Works well and we love it since you can use it not only for too small kids, but kids or adults that are timid and prefer not to ride

Just reiterating what others have said! The child swap area was very cool!! :)

Thank you! Still trying to decide if it'll be worth $400 to see the Harry Potter areas...

There is sooo much more to Universal than just the Harry Potter areas

Agreed! And this is coming from a HP fanatic!! :wizard:

We thoroughly enjoyed both of the parks! So much to see and experience! Yes, we spent a large chunk of our time in Hogsmeade.. but we adored the rest of the areas as well! We want to return and spend MORE time exploring the rest of the parks then we were able to our last visit!

I know there is, but HP is really the only reason we'll be going. There's very little my toddler would be able to go on (unless he somehow sprouts 4" by then, he's just under 36" now) and it is heartbreaking to listen to him beg to go on every ride his sister can go on. We did Legoland in CA a few weeks ago, and had to spend a lot of time trying to pacify and distract him as she went on ride after ride and he was stuck waiting with Mommy. I felt really bad for him. And if she were to go on Minion Mayhem and he couldn't, well, the ensuing meltdown would probably mean the end of our day. We are currently reading Harry Potter together and it looks like there would be a lot to interest them both there.

We live an hour from Universal Hollywood, and haven't bothered taking them because of the lack of attractions toddlers can experience. I guess we've been spoiled by Disneyland, where at his current age and height, he can actually do more than his pregnant mama.
