Went to a baby shower yesterday. Each table had a plain white onesie on it and a bunch of fabric markers.

Everyone at the table got to draw or write whatever they wanted on the onesie for the baby-to-be. Very cute idea I thought.:D

Love that idea. Will have to remember that one!

Cute! I recently was at a shower where everyone got to write a message on a diaper or two. That way when the new parents are changing diapers they will get to see some words from a friend.

That is such a cute idea. I will have to remember this as my SIL's due date gets closer. ;)

Great idea...thanks for sharing!! My SIL is due in November and before we know it, it'll be time for that shower!

Just another cute idea I have seen for a baby shower gift...
Buy packages of onesies, booties, blankets, outfits...whatever you want and hang each piece individually on a length of clothesline with pastel clothespins. Then wind the clothesline into a large gift bag, place some tissue on top and when the mom-to-be unwraps the gift, it makes a very impressive display...like one of those clown scarves that just keeps going and going. Have the mom-to-be hand an end to someone and stretch it across the room.

That, and I have seen pastel egg cartens filled with baby socks, nipples, and such items that will fit in the little "holes"...it was an imaginative way to package the gift items.

Another great idea I have seen at showers is for the host to buy thank you notes, then each attendee addresses an envelope to themself. It saves the honoree lots of trouble looking up everyone's address. Every shower I have been to that does this, it has been a huge hit. I also do this for any shower I host.

A variation on this idea I've seen is the onesie with fabric paint, paper plates, and some of those inexpensive stencils and stamps, so that someone doesn't have to be an artist to put a little lamb, or flower, or bootie, on the onesie.
