Baby shower gift for someone you dont know?

We recently had a surprise shower for one of our new sign language interpreters at church and we all really don't know her well. Many of us gave her diapers and wipes. I was able to get a case of wipes at BJ for about $10 and they were very appreciated. You can never have too many.
For those who wonder why we would go to a shower for a person we don't know well. It is common at church as we are all brothers and sisters in Christ. If we don't know the person well then it is usually diapers, wipes or onesies. If we know them we may give a more personal type gift.

Well, I went to a cousin's baby shower in June and I gave a crocheted baby blanket that I made plus 4 long sleeved onesies. You could always give a $25 gift card to Babies R Us.

This is my go to if I know well in advance of the baby's coming. I love to knot or crochet a baby blanket for the new child.

I am sure that as she doesn't know you, she will consider any gift generous. I certainly would! And we're at least going to give cloth a shot, but wouldn't be offended by diapers either.
